Found myself unexpectedly able to attend the press line and take in the beauty and grace of my new friend Mariska's film about her mother, but it's much more than that, it's really a story of Mariska, stepping into her own life, claiming her own truth, carrying her family so gently and delicately, but pulling off the veil of secrecy and fantasy and walking so proudly into her own being surrounded, and I mean, surrounded by her loving family cheering her on and of course her friends. I had had a private screening thinking I wasn't going to be able to attend last night's event and I wailed and made a sound like a wounded water buffalo at a couple moments in the movie and then shouted at the screen and maybe used the F word at her husband for a gesture that he does which will make every spouse turn and glare at their own wondering would they do the same thing knowing that they wouldn't. It's a spectacular documentary and it's the emergence of a great filmmaker.

Aspiring Magazine - Fashion/Inspiring
Aspiring Magazine was a vision by publisher - Cynthia Hudson that was brought to life! As an agent for years she worked with a magazine many years back and was given the rights to that magazine. She always had envisioned to one day have the magazine come to life. When years later that time came the original magazine name was taken. She had a talk show Aspire TV and was hoping to name the magazine that but that two was taken. So she named the magazine Aspiring after her talk show Aspire TV. She had a vision of combining her fashion industry world with her inspiring guest on her TV show. Like most magazine publishers it isn’t that easy to just create a magazine. Through many team players Aspiring Magazine has fruitened since their first issue in Winter 2014. Since then, her team has created 16 issues(which includes this summers issue 2020)! We are excited to be able to keep moving forward and bring to life so many amazing inspiring stories and fashion editorial layouts. Aspiring Magazine has teamed up with School of Fashion Design - Boston in May 2020. We are excited that a portion of the sale of each magazine will go towards helping future fashion students at the college. We are proud to team up with such amazing talent. Through the 6 plus years we have interviewed and featured so many wonderful folks and look forward to 6 plus more years of doing that. We are always looking for advertisers/sales and marketing professionals/interns/investors/inspiring stories/team players to work with our fashion editorial shoots/featured writers/photographer submissions and much more and to get involved in any of these ways please email [email protected] and on the subject line please put what you are emailing about.
Aspiring Magazine is proud to partner up as well with Women Empowering Women Conferences that will be in 8 plus US states in 2021. For a full list please see under our event section on this page.
