Help Keep WNCW Strong.
At the time of this post, we have raised $111,300 plus gained many, many new monthly sustainers! The outpouring of support has been incredible.

In case you have missed it, the federal government recently voted to claw back funds already allocated to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), which in turn, distributes those funds to public radio stations. For WNCW, that means a sudden loss of $168,00 or about 10% of our entire annual budget. This cut threatens our ability to bring you the music, news, and independent content you count on every day.
We’re reaching out with an urgent request: Help us close this gap and preserve WNCW as a vital voice in our region.
Your support ensures:
• Continued service to our community through partnerships with organizations like Habitat for Humanity, Manna Food Bank, and many more.
• A trusted, local source for emergency information during disasters like Hurricane Helene.
• The ability to legally play the music you love, thanks to the CPB's music rights administration — ensuring artists are paid and we stay on the air.
This isn’t a typical fund drive. We’re calling it an “Un-Drive” because it’s not about premiums or giveaways — it’s about protecting the heart and soul of public radio.
Please donate today at wncw.org or click the link in our bio. WNCW’s future depends on you.

Help Keep WNCW Strong – Support Our Un-Drive Today
This week, we’re holding an “Un-Drive” — a special appeal to offset the sudden loss of $168,000 in public media funding. That’s 10% of WNCW’s entire annual budget. This cut directly threatens our ability to bring you the music, news, and independent content you count on every day. We’re reaching out with an urgent request: Help us close this gap and preserve WNCW as a vital voice in our region. We are currently over halfway to our goal. Have we heard from you? You can donate now at wncw.org or call us at 1-800-245-8870.

UPDATE: We have now raised $68,848! Thank you!!
We are hosting an "Un-Drive" this week to offset the revenue loss resulting from the rescission of public media funding. For WNCW, the deficit is $168,000, or 10% of our total budget. We are reaching out to you with an urgent request: help us close the gap and preserve WNCW as an essential voice in our region. Your support now can help ensure that the music, news, and independent content that WNCW uniquely provides remain accessible to all, regardless of income or geography. It will allow WNCW to continue providing a voice and support for the multitude of community, municipal, health, and other non-profit organizations that we support regularly, like Habitat for Humanity, Manna Food Bank, and others, as well as being here to provide much-needed emergency information during disaster situations like Hurricane Helene.

So far, we have raised almost $50,000! But we are not yet where we need to be.

You can donate securely online any time at wncw.org. We will also have staff available until 5pm today to take your donation by phone at 1-800-245-8870.

Thank you for your support!

WNCW is sad to report the death of singer, pianist, and satirist (and math professor for even longer), Tom Lehrer.

The songwriter and math professor found a following with his satirical political songs.
