After years of leading a GTAV roleplay community on Xbox, I found myself doing more story like gaming in many more games. Over time it evolved into a small group of creatives wanting to tell their stories as well as show t

That is XPG, that is "The Experience", the essence of all the characters we make and stories we tell in a variety of games presented in through videos, live streaming, photography, and forum writing. It's been a passion project for a small clique of hardcore and creative gamers, and we're sharing our stories hoping that you find similar enjoyment in them that we have found. I'm seeing some light at the end of my Ark tunnel. I've been thinking about the block I've had with creating and building within these games. Over time I've come to notice that I started to try to use console commands to bypass actual playing of the game in the interest to expedite my ability to make cool content.

Not grinding the game but enabling myself to just make the thing and have it full of cool stuff. And it really hit me yesterday; the formula was long gone. My attempt at efficacy ultimately led me to bypass the thing that led to the awesome builds and the cool things in them.

It was the experience; it was the playing of the game. In games like Ark, you start with rocks and thatch and over time, over the journey, over the course of the experience... the things get built. And along the journey, the cool things are acquired and because of them being found and made in this manner, they have another level of substance that I had lost by bypassing all of this to be in creative mode. I tried to shove months of experiences and journeys into a creative box and just produce the idea of what would have been build and acquired over time.

With Valguero on Ascended, we're getting towards ONCE AGAIN having all of Ark in Ark. (for now) And I've used it and Ragnarok to try to test this theory. To see if the creative block can be lifted by just letting myself experience gaming... and see what comes of it...

It wasn't what I wanted it to be, but I guess it's nice to know that it's just sitting in a cave on my Center server. lo...
