"For me, black tape in a white interior is like drawing with ink on paper...The black masking tape is easy to tear by hand, so I can make bursting fragments, long tense splashes, circles and arches, or loose and curly strands. There are countless possibilities to create a whole world with lines." Read a new interview with Monika Grzymala in our current September/October issue; subscribe via the link in bio.

"Focused on material transformation and dissonance, the work of this Basque artist accumulates folds and layers, closures and openings, colors and textures," writes Martin Holman of June Crespo's sculptures in "their weft, the grass," her recent exhibition at 1646 Experimental Art Space in The Hague. "Above all, diverse materials combine into new formulations in which matter converses with the body through suggestive and sometimes anthropomorphic forms. In her chimerical creations, the origins of the components are not jettisoned but stirred into whatever the mixture becomes in the eye of the beholder..." “The exhibition coalesces around a Korean phrase that references an old idea of packing up a house and moving it through time and place. Rather than thinking of time as linear, however, Suh thinks of cycles of time and returns, carrying elements of one home to another,” Beth Williamson writes on Do Ho Suh’s “Walk the House” (on view at the Tate Modern through October 26, 2025) in a recent sculpturemagazine.art review.
