The City of New Braunfels will conduct its monthly outdoor warning siren test on Tuesday, August 5, at approximately 12pm.

Siren Testing Notice

The City of New Braunfels will conduct its monthly outdoor warning siren test on Tuesday, August 5, at approximately 12pm (noon). Please note: This is a routine system test. There is no emergency, and there is no cause for concern.

In the event of a real emergency, the sirens will sound as a signal to tune in to local media and check the City of New Braunfels website, newbraunfels.gov, and official social media channels for important updates.

Residents are encouraged to register for the Regional Emergency Alert Network (also known as Reverse 911) to receive emergency alerts directly to their phones. While landlines are contacted automatically, cell phone numbers must be registered to receive alerts. Registering is free. Visit newbraunfels.gov/reverse911 to learn more and sign up.

Today’s Tell Me Something Good Tuesday is about a safe street crossing!

Polly wanted to give a shout out to a New Braunfels police officer.

Last Wednesday, Polly was on Loop 337 when she came across a police officer in the center lane at an intersection.

The officer had their flashers on because they were ensuring a safe crossing for a young fawn to cross the road.

Thanks to the officer, cars obediently stopped and the fawn safely crossed the busy Loop.

A big thank you to the police officer who makes sure everyone, including fawns, are safe on our roadways!

Thanks to Stephens Roofing and Veramendi, proud sponsors of ‘Tell Me Something Good Tuesday’ on Radio New Braunfels.

Increased river flow, water clarity issues, debris clean up, and hidden submerged debris due to recent heavy rains will continue to close access to the Comal River and Guadalupe River on Monday, July 7, 2025. Conditions will be reevaluated on Tuesday morning (July 8th) to determine when recreation can resume.

Some roads across the city remain barricaded due to recent rains. Do not drive around barricades. And never drive through standing or rushing water. TURN AROUND, DON’T DROWN. Visit www.newbraunfels.gov/roadclosures for the latest information on road conditions inside the city limits of New Braunfels.

It should be noted that the US National Weather Service Austin-San Antonio Texas has re-issued a Flood Watch for New Braunfels, Comal County, and Guadalupe County until 11:45pm today. Additional rainfall could cause additional flash flooding. Those ongoing weather factors will play a role in future decisions made by city officials.

Our thoughts are with those in the Kerr County area after catastrophic flooding hit the area yesterday. 💔

To assist recovery, the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country established the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund.
