Me + board = red, white and blue! Happy 4th of July from me and my crew. Now time to hide while we blow stuff up in the sky for no reason terrorizing animals and intentionally littering.

We had to amputate the last approx. 1.5 inches of Luna's tail today at the vet unexpectedly. Iguanas (and many lizards) can lose their tail in traumatic situations, and throughout the 11+ years we have had Luna, this has been a constant and literal nightmare. I don't think a week has ever gone by where I don't have an actual nightmare about Luna losing her tail. That nightmare is right on par with the "taking a final exam for a class you just found out you had been enrolled in all semester but didn't know" dream. Anyone else?

It was only a little over an inch and was the safest choice so that whatever ailment her tail tip had wouldn't spread, I'm still in shock and processing. And for whatever reason, sometimes publishing things to the world (like via social media) is a key step in that process. So, Luna the 11 year old iguana that we've had since she was a only few inches long, got a little shorter today but should be just fine!
