Another amazing day at the Mr Zal Classroom Meet & Greet @ Lincoln Square Mall Farmers Market in Urbana. The weather was beautiful so I enjoyed some live music, refreshing Leeyah-Symone's Lemonade and delicious tacos. Even the Mayor DeShawn Williams stopped by to grab some delicious lemonade and to say hello to everyone. What a surprise! It is always nice to see families smiling and having a great time. That pretty much sums up my great day! Bye Bye!👋🏿 😊❤️

By day, Henry Darby is the devoted principal of North Charleston High School in South Carolina. By night, three times a week from 10 pm to 7 am, he quietly puts on a Walmart vest and stocks shelves. Every single dollar he earns goes directly to help students in need — whether it’s food, rent, or keeping the lights on.

At first, hardly anyone knew. A Walmart coworker eventually realized that the man stocking shelves all night was also a school principal. Word spread, and Henry’s story went viral. A community member launched a GoFundMe, and kind strangers gave more than $190,000 to help struggling families.

Henry says the greatest reward isn’t the money or recognition — it’s watching his students grow in confidence and hope. Even when his students were surprised to see him working at Walmart, he reminded them: “All honest work is honorable.”

“I did it for 16 years,” said Michael Dixon. Mr. Mike, as students knew him, was the head custodian, keeping the building clean.
“I used to say to people all the time, ‘I’m going to be on the other side of that desk soon, one of these days,’” he said. “I always wanted to be a teacher, but I never went to school.”

Everyone saw the time he spent with students, administrators started letting him come to faculty meetings, and encouraged him.
Degree in hand, Mr. Mike is now Mr. Dixon, teaching financial literacy at Leonard Middle School in Fort Worth ISD and connecting with kids.

“He’s very funny, and he likes to joke around most of the time in class, while most teachers they’re really serious in class,” said Covan Elder, one of his students.
