The Encourager with Rebekah Scott

The Encourager with Rebekah Scott Helping faith-driven women balance home and work life with systems, confidence, and joy. In 2003, I founded Rebekah Scott Designs.

I have loved sewing since I was four years old when I would kneel next to my mom at her sewing machine and beg her to let me to cut scraps of fabric to create something of my own. Until she allowed me to belly up to her machine, I would craft things with tissues and a stapler. Eventually, Mom decided I had what it took to honor this tradition and passed the baton allowing me to sew and design with

her. My husband, Nicholas, and I wanted to start our family and I knew I wanted to stay at home, raising babies by my side. I desired to be an entrepreneur so Nicholas and I worked hard to become debt free with the Dave Ramsey program. Nick soon saw the itch I had for sewing and said, “Ok! Launch your business!” and LAUNCH I did! That night, I stayed up until 2am sewing in my happy place with my sewing machine humming and I thanked God for the opportunity to see my seeds grow. In the beginning, I did have a bit of a dry spell so I improvised. I was in need of fabric to create purses but didn’t have the cash flow. I paced around thinking of possible solutions and it hit me, “I have really cute curtains!” So there I was, cutting my curtains into adorable handbags and thanking the good Lord for making it rain! Sales were one by one to start but I have the best customers! Word of mouth and raving reviews from women who just had to share with their friends and family, I was along for the ride! Each ride granted me permission to continue sewing and designing for women all over the country! With every sale, each customer inspired me to try harder. I can always work to improve and be more creative with meeting the needs of my customers for design, originality and purpose. Every customer has the ability to design their own bag and tell their own story by selecting the fabric and purpose that appeals to them. I love hearing the various stories women tell about how their bag welcomed their baby home, watched a sister move away or landed their first job and needed a professional bag to stand out in the crowd. I love to be part of their story! Each year, my seeds grew new sprouts! I hired new employees to become more efficient and have the ability to harvest more fruit with different varieties for new customers. We employ South Dakota women who are eager to work and sew good seeds in a growing America. With plenty of help and continued support from our roots, Rebekah Scott Designs is a federally trademarked sales brand. I can’t emphasize enough how much I love what I have grown over these years. We have four little ones watching that the seeds are planted, grown and harvested each year. They continue to inspire me, put smiles in my heart and remind me why I grew such a large garden. Their grace allows me to balance the roles I have been blessed with. The Encourager podcast is my way to share everything I have learned in my 10+ years of growing a family and a business side by side. I enjoy giving encouragement and motivation to other women and offering advice for finding balance and systems for working in the home, while keeping it real! Tiny Treats Aren’t Always Self-Care...

Finished a task → grab your phone.
Wrapped up a meeting → scroll social media.
Need a break → browse online.

Sometimes it’s not self-care. It’s avoiding the transition.

What if you don’t need another reward… but a better system?

Pause. Transition. Continue.

Juneteenth Freedom Day.

Today we celebrate Juneteenth. A day that honors the end of slavery in the United States and recognizes freedom, resilience, and justice.

We pause to remember the significance of this moment in history and the continued journey toward equality and understanding.

May today be a time of reflection, learning, and respect.

Give yourself the gift of a full exhale. Close the inbox. Let your brain rest.

Sometimes the healthiest habit isn't something you start. It's something you stop.

8 Habits Worth Breaking...

Sometimes growth isn't about adding more.
Sometimes it's finally letting something go.

We often think change means doing more, but real transformation can also come from releasing the habits that quietly drain us.

In this slide series, we’re breaking down 8 simple but powerful habits that might be keeping you stuck, overwhelmed, or stretched too thin.

💬 Which habit stood out to you the most? What are you ready to break in this season?

Save this, share it with a friend, and revisit it whenever you need a reset reminder!

Tough to admit, but I realized something had shifted.

I stopped rewarding myself for good work and started constantly treating myself instead.

Not because I had accomplished something significant. Not because I had earned it. It had simply become a habit.

And when I noticed it, I knew it was something I needed to change.

Sometimes the habits holding us back aren't the obvious ones. They're the small patterns we've stopped paying attention to.

What about you? What's one habit you're ready to let go of in this season? Share it in the comments below!

How close are you to burnout?

Maybe you're staring off more than usual.
Maybe you're constantly exhausted.
Maybe you're snapping at the people you love most.
Maybe you feel like you're carrying more than you were ever meant to carry alone.

The truth is, burnout doesn't happen all at once. It happens through small patterns that slowly drain your energy, your focus, and your joy.

But moving away from burnout doesn't require a complete life overhaul. Often, it starts with small, intentional changes that create more margin, more clarity, and more breathing room.

You don't have to keep pushing through overwhelm on your own. Sometimes the smallest tweaks create the biggest transformation.

We live in a world that constantly tells us to add more, do more, and become more. But sometimes the greatest gift you can give yourself is permission to let go.

Let go of the habit.
Let go of the pressure.
Let go of the thing that's taking more from you than it's giving.

Peace doesn't always come from adding. Sometimes it comes from releasing.

06/16/2026

Sometimes the next level of peace isn't found in something you need to start. Sometimes it's found in something you need to stop.

We often think growth means adding more, doing more, or trying harder. But what if the breakthrough you're looking for comes from letting go of a habit that's no longer serving you?

In this week's podcast, I'm sharing a few things I'm choosing to stop doing so I can create more margin, less overwhelm, and more space for what matters most.

Listen to this week's episode of The Encourager Podcast and join me in making room for a little more peace.

What if the next level of peace in your life is hidden in what you're finally ready to stop?

We often think peace comes from finding the perfect system, adding a new habit, or getting more done. But sometimes peace is found in letting go of the things that are no longer serving us.

Maybe it's a habit.
Maybe it's an expectation.
Maybe it's a pattern that's been quietly stealing your energy for far too long.

What are you ready to stop?
