Haste The Day conjure the sound of coming full circle. The Indiana-bred band rekindles the spark at the heart of their signature style by sharpening the edges, tightening the melodies, and amplifying the scope with cinematic ambition. Haste The Day have clung to their integrity since initially emerging at the turn of the century. Following Burning Bridges [2004] and When Everything Falls [2005], Stephen made his formal debut as the group's frontman on Pressure The Hinges [2007]. The band unleashed a trio of fan favorite offerings, namely Dreamer [2008], the seminal Attack Of The Wolf King [2010], and Coward [2015]. The latter marked their second straight Top 20 entry on the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart and second Top 10 on the Hard Rock Albums Chart. Along the way, they toured with everyone from Hollywood Undead to Norma Jean. Despite going dormant in 2016, they amassed tens of millions of streams and continued to resonate with an ever-expanding audience. In 1990, Savatage stood at a turning point. Following the release of "Gutter Ballet," the band embarked on a tour that would become one of the most explosive and defining runs of their career. Night after night, audiences were drawn into a powerful blend of crushing riffs, theatrical ambition, and emotional intensity. It was a band in transformation: heavier, broader, and more dramatic than ever before.

Now, more than three decades later, Madness Reigns From The Gutter (1990) documents that pivotal era in full force. Carefully restored from the original master tapes and newly mixed and mastered, the 19-track album presents Savatage at peak voltage: Ferocious yet refined, balancing power metal muscle with the sweeping grandeur that would soon shape their next chapter.

Many fans consider the 1990 lineup to be "peak Savatage," and listening to this performance, it's hard to disagree. On stage, five distinct personalities ignited the night: the youthful and electrifying Chris Caffery; bassist Johnny Lee Middleton, matching Caffery's fire note for note; the hard-hitting and wildly animated Steve "Doc" Wacholz behind his gargantuan triple-bass kit; the virtuosic Criss Oliva, channeling precision and passion in equal measure; and at the center of it all, the charismatic ringmaster Jon Oliva in absolute prime form.

Reflecting on that era, Jon Oliva recalls, "The Gutter Tour was Savatage at its live show peak. It was 6 months where madness definitely reigned in the gutter. Enjoy it friends!"

At a time when Florida's metal scene was pushing toward ever greater extremity, Savatage chose evolution over imitation. With Gutter Ballet, they fused melody and menace, piano and power, vulnerability and velocity. On stage in 1990, those contrasts became combustible.

The tour itself marked one of the busiest and most defining periods in the band's history, with more than 100 shows across Europe and North America, each performance sharpening the band's musical edge and stage presence.

Madness Reigns From The Gutter (1990) will be released in Europe on June 26, as a CD Digipak and Heavyweight Black 3LP Gatefold edition. The digital release will be available worldwide on the same day, with the U.S. physical release following on September 18.

More than three decades later, that madness returns: Restored, remixed and as powerful as ever.

At The Gates launches new single/video for "The Dissonant Void" off upcoming 'The Ghost of a Future Dead' album

Swedish melodic death metal pioneers At The Gates are today revealing a second single for their upcoming album The Ghost of a Future Dead, out on April 24th via Century Media Records.

The video for "The Dissonant Void" serves as a first glimpse of a massive conceptual project featuring painting, filming, editing and production by Costin Chioreanu for a visual storyline that enhances the entire The Ghost of a Future Dead album, which will be launched in full to expand the album's release sometime soon.

"'The Dissonant Void' is the peak of the iceberg, as a whole visual universe got born out of the void written so masterfully in lyrics by Tomas and expressed magically by the band through their unique heavy metal approach. This video, together with the whole 'The Ghost of a Future Dead' movie, represent my ultimate homage to the genius which will forever remain as Tomas Lindberg. It was a colossal task to express visually the depth and the darkness of these lyrics and music for an entire album, which also is most probably the darkest record I ever worked for."

The follow-up to 2021's wildly adventurous The Nightmare of Being, this upcoming At The Gates album The Ghost of a Future Dead marks a special tribute to frontman Tomas Lindberg, who tragically passed away in September 2025.

MOST OF CLASSIC KING DIAMOND LINE-UP UNITES IN NEW BAND; LEX LEGION

Lex Legion is a brand new band comprised of old friends with incredible heavy metal pedigree. Comprising of four-fifths of the classic late 1980s King Diamond line-up – drummer Mikkey Dee, guitarists Pete Blakk and Andy La Rocque, and bassist Hal Patino – the group is infused with the jaw-dropping vocals of Nils K. Rue (Pagan's Mind). And let's not overlook that their members also boast Motörhead, Scorpions, and Death on its collective resumes.

Lex Legion's eponymous debut album is a single-minded, future-facing throwback of world class hard rock/metal distinguished by tasteful, less-is-more arrangements, virtuoso musicianship, and relentless melody and harmony.

"Lex Legion is totally written the way we thought in the '80s," said Mikkey Dee. "We wrote what we wanted, and if you liked it, that was a great bonus. If you didn't like it, that was fine with us, too!"

Lex Legion was formed by Blakk and Dee, and completed by Patino, alongside La Rocque (a King Diamond constant since 1985, who also played on Death's seminal 'Individual Thought Patterns'), and finally, Rue.

This is music for hard rock/metal fans, but also with a freshness and sense of excitement that only a debut album can capture. Lex Legion's members find themselves more musically accomplished than ever before, but now free of the egos of youth; and with friendship that comes with careers spanning more than forty years.

Despite their impressive resumes (Dee is also a Grammy winner and both La Rocque and Hal Patino are nominees) and busy individual schedules, Lex Legion is a serious passion project that's been gestating for a quarter century, until the time was right.

Lex Legion's self-titled debut will be released by MNRK Music Group in June of 2026, with possible touring beginning the following year. And the band states its case within the first few seconds of its album opener and first single "Sleep Eternally," which drops on March 31st.

"It has elements of everything on the album," said La Rocque. "The right tempo and the right kind of vocals, starting out like a fist in your face!" Rue's soaring pipes and ominous harmonies are framed by Dee's unmistakable powerhouse drumming, imaginative leads from both guitarists, Patino's melodic basslines, and shifts of pace and tempo that will satiate fans of more progressive sub genres.

The second track and follow-up single "Gypsy Tears" (which arrives in May) seals the deal – eerie, rapturous, otherworldly, propulsive and evocative, but also, straight-up driving, melodic metal.

SEPULTURA RELEASE NEW SINGLE BEYOND THE DREAM.
THE CLOUD OF UNKNOWING EP IS OUT ON APRIL, 24TH

As the curtain falls on an extraordinary career spanning more than four decades, SEPULTURA are preparing to close their final chapter at the end of this year. With over 40 years of band history, 14 gold records, and performances across more than 80 countries, SEPULTURA stand as Brazil’s uncompromising emissary to the global stage and one of today’s most influential metal bands.

Currently bringing their pioneering sound to audiences worldwide on the 'Celebrating Life Through Death' farewell tour, the question has arisen: how should SEPULTURA mark the end of such a monumental journey? The answer came naturally: By capturing a final creative moment and preserving it for posterity.

Last month, SEPULTURA announced their final release, The Cloud of Unknowing EP, due to be released on April 24th.

Today, the band are proud to reveal the EP's second single, the deeply resonant 'Beyond the Dream'.

SEPULTURA commented,

“Beyond the Dream” emerges as one of the most emblematic moments of Sepultura’s final chapter, serving as a poetic reflection of a journey shaped by decades of albums, tours, and life on the road.

This previously unreleased composition fulfills a long-standing desire of the band to explore the ballad format, blending Sepultura’s identity with the melodic sensitivity of renowned collaborators. To bring this project to life, Sepultura enlisted the essential collaboration of Sérgio Britto and Tony Bellotto of Titãs—musicians who share a long history with the band and are widely recognized as specialists in the genre, as well as composers of classics such as “Polícia.”

The result of a direct partnership between members of Sepultura and Titãs, the song celebrates the connection between artists who share the stage and a deep passion for creation. The outcome is a piece that brings great satisfaction to everyone involved, establishing itself as both an emotional and historical milestone featured on the band’s final EP, released in this very year that marks Sepultura’s official farewell.”
