FORBIDDEN’s legacy is one of being the youngest, hungriest, and most ambitious of the Bay Area brethren that has launched metal paradigm-shifters from Metallica to Machine Head. INSOMNIUM DELVE INTO MYTHOLOGY WITH "ARCH OF THE SKY," THE THIRD SINGLE FROM UPCOMING ALBUM NETHERWORLDS

With their video for new single "Arch of the Sky," Finland's masters of melancholy INSOMNIUM delve into the realm of mythology.
Ville Friman (guitar, clean vocals) comments, "'Arch of the Sky' introduces a proggier side of the Netherworlds, featuring time signature changes and Insomnium's trademark blend of mellow passages and heavier sections. Lyrically, the song is inspired by Sámi mythology, in which celestial hunters pursue a deer across the arch of the sky in perpetual motion. According to the legend, if the deer were ever caught, the world would come to an end as the roof of the sky collapsed."

We can only move forward when we understand what came before. HAVOK possesses an airtight grasp on the fundamentals of thrash, enabling them to usher the genre into the fire of the future. The Colorado quartet lock and load throat-slicing guitars with breakneck rhythms and venomously vitriolic vocals. After piling up tens of millions of streams and earning acclaim from Metal Hammer, Loudwire, Consequence of Sound, and many more, the band ignited their first independent release, the ‘New Eyes’ EP, in 2024.

HAVOK has never stopped pushing forward without apology. Thus far, they’ve unleashed a series of fan-favorite albums, including ‘Burn’ [2009], ‘Time Is Up’ [2011], ‘Unnatural Selection’ [2013], ‘Conformicide’ [2017], and ’V’ [2020]. There are countless young bands that are still searching for their own individual musical identity and a breakthrough image based on their own visionary concept. And then there’s Blood White, a band that has already found all these factors. Although the five-piece band has only been together since 2022, their sound is incredibly mature, creative, and unique. Blood White have developed a refined, distinctive mix of modern metal, rock, and hardcore which leaves a lasting impression. Added to that, the band’s incredible stage outfits, highlighted through their glaring red-and-white "corporate identity," sets the quintet apart from the genre’s standard dull, black style which so many of their contemporaries seem to favor. But most importantly, their debut album, From Hell, presents music of a standard rarely found in newcomer acts.

The songs mix raw metal riffs and brutal grooves with catchy choruses which enables listeners who are less into the metal genre immediate access to their exciting, hellraising music. It’s about love, about its dependence on your own emotions, and on what constitutes the bleakness of grief. Thoughts of having nothing left but a refuge, albeit one that makes you slide even deeper into the abyss than you already have.”

“From Hell” and “Fear” strike a similar lyrical note and present demonic verbal exchanges on God and the world, preachers, monsters and demons, as well as the eternal horror of war and devastation leading, ultimately, to the destruction of one’s own soul. Dr. Zero adds: “Most of our songs are about the chasms of the human mind, its capacity for absolute evil, a contradiction to love and compassion. This contraction also resonates in the name Blood White, red being a symbol of blood, but also of love, and white stands for innocence and eternity evoking that glistening, bright light that people who have experienced ‘being clinically dead’ talk about.”

The appraisal above says it all! Blood White hold everything in their own hands; it’s all there to be seen and heard: the music, the videos, the album sleeve, the photos - the entire band and its image!

A dark, heavy and deeply conceptual record, Hexes takes FRAXURES into ambitious new territory. Built around a singular premise, each song explores the forces that bind, haunt, manipulate and ultimately shape the human experience.

The title track serves as the gateway into that world.

The official “Hexes” video was directed and edited by FRAXURES bassist Vinny Marvaso of Marvaso Media and incorporates fragments from the upcoming film The Behemoth, creating a cinematic visual counterpart to the album’s ominous atmosphere and central theme. FRAXURES made their recorded debut with the critically acclaimed Firewater Sessions EP, produced by Billy Graziadei of Biohazard. Its combination of crushing riffs, expansive melodies and thought-provoking lyrics laid the groundwork for the band’s next chapter and ultimately led to FRAXURES joining the Cleopatra Records family.

The band subsequently released “Blackheart Serenade” and its interpretation of Depeche Mode’s “It’s No Good,” which broke onto Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart.

Now, with Hexes, FRAXURES deliver the record toward which that momentum has been building.

The release of Hexes follows the album’s third single, “Trauma Bond,” which introduced listeners to the record’s curse-driven concept through the destructive cycle of a relationship built around shared trauma.

Frontman Travis Neal described “Trauma Bond” as being about two people who remain helplessly connected despite the toxicity between them — trapped in a constant push and pull until the bond can finally be broken and freedom found outside the chaos.

That was only the beginning.

Across Hexes, FRAXURES expands the concept into a collection of individual stories, with each track examining its own form of darkness, while the album as a whole creates a larger narrative of entanglement, consequence, struggle and release.

On 29th July, founding member of Black Sabbath, Tony Iommi announced his brand-new studio album, From The Dark and premiered the first single from it, "World Alone" to critical and fan acclaim. Infiltrating the vanguard of heavy music with an uncanny and unpredictable sound like no other, acclaimed Nashville-based sonic alchemist SHOWING TEETH presents her much-anticipated debut EP, A FATE WORSE THAN LONELINESS, out now via Republic Records + Spinefarm. To celebrate the EP's arrival, she also served up the music video for the new single "Make It Out" today. The clip captures the uncontrolled energy of this disarmingly catchy anthem with gritty footage and an appropriately claustrophobic performance.

Musically, the track's glitchy riff slips into a buoyant palm-muted groove, while airy keys carry the verses. Boosted by alternately crunching and chugging distortion, SHOWING TEETH translates anxiety into a transfixing refrain as she accepts, "Maybe it's too late to pick me up…I'll throw myself back down….Even up to now, I'll tell myself, 'You'll never make it out'."

Amplifying her internal struggle aloud without shame, she fearlessly wrestles with self-defeat on the hook and pushes through with honesty and heart intact.

She teased the EP with the brutal and bludgeoning "Bad Exchanges." The latter is quickly nearing one million total streams. Plus, she delivered a chaotic music video to accompany the song.

Earning acclaim, Revolver hailed it as "a series of noise-tastic riff swerves, ground-unsettling gravity blasts, deliciously disjointed sound effects and, of course, the ultra-violent screams and squeals of project leader and vocalist Addison." Metal Hammer named it one of "The 12 Best New Metal Songs You Need To Hear Right Now," going on to profess, "Maybe it's the frequent blast-beats, or the shrieking, grindcore like screeches, but the Nashville artist really nails a sense of frenzied mania."

This fall, she will hit the road as support to President on the band's sold-out North American Campaign 2026 for six weeks across North America. This run commences on September 4 in Nashville, TN at Brooklyn Bowl Nashville, visits major markets coast-to-coast, and closes out on October 14 in Dallas, TX at House of Blues Dallas.
