"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments" (Matthew 22:36-40 NIV).

Week III of "God and Mammon: Dismantling the Prosperity Gospel" is now published on Medium and free to read through the friend link.

"Week III: Scripture Warns That Greed Destroys the Soul"
"When Desire Becomes Discipleship"

This week, the series turns from greed as a personal flaw to greed as a force that shapes systems, governments, churches, politics, media, and even the way people imagine God.

We look at Scripture.

We look at American history.

We look at public trust turned into private opportunity.

And we ask what happens when greed learns to dress itself up as faith, freedom, patriotism, progress, and blessing.

Paul did not treat greed as harmless ambition.

Peter did not treat religious exploitation as a minor problem.

And Jesus did not call us to serve mammon more politely.

The gospel does not call us to become better servants of greed.

It calls us to be free.

Tomorrow I’ll be publishing Week III of "God and Mammon: Dismantling the Prosperity Gospel" on Patreon.

This is the week where the series turns toward greed not just as a personal flaw, but as a force that shapes governments, institutions, churches, media, politics, and the human soul.

We’ll look at Scripture.

We’ll look at history.

We’ll look at the ways public trust has been turned into private opportunity before.

And we’ll ask what the words of Jesus, Paul, and Peter have to say to a country where greed keeps dressing itself up as freedom, faith, progress, patriotism, and blessing.

Because the “HOLY BIBLE” isn't a prop.

It isn't a brand accessory.

It isn't a weapon for protecting our fears and prejudices.

If we are willing to read it honestly, Scripture still has the power to confront the masters we have learned to obey.

Even when those masters are money.

Even when they are politics.

Even when they are spectacle.

Even when they are our own fear of losing control.

This week is about learning to see past the performance and look at the fruit.

Because Jesus already gave us the test:

“Thus you will know them by their fruits.”

The form says God.

The fruit says mammon.

Week III publishes tomorrow on Patreon and here at Kidowski Studio.

I just published Part II of "God and Mammon: Dismantling the Prosperity Gospel" on Patreon.

"Week II: Jesus Names Wealth as a Rival Master"

This series is not a rejection of Scripture. It is a return to Scripture, especially the words of Jesus.

And Jesus was painfully clear:

You cannot serve God and mammon.

Part II looks at what happens when people defend the Bible as an object while avoiding the actual demands of the Bible as a witness. It also looks at how organized religion, translation, publishing, politics, and money have shaped the way people receive and use Scripture.

Including the way the Bible itself can become merchandise.

This is not about whether the Bible is holy.

It's about whether we are willing to let the Holy Bible confront the masters we have learned to obey.

From May 31 through Nov. 1, I’m focusing my Scriptural attention on dismantling the Prosperity Gospel that has infected American politics.

Not because wealth itself is evil, but because Jesus was very clear:

We cannot serve both God and mammon.

When faith becomes branding, when the Bible becomes merchandise, when cruelty toward the vulnerable is dressed up as righteousness, the church isn't being faithful.

It's being captured.

So this season, I’m turning toward Scripture, not away from it. I’m asking what Jesus actually said about money, power, greed, leadership, and the vulnerable. And I’m asking why so much of modern political Christianity seems determined to ignore him.

The upcoming series is called: God and Mammon: Dismantling the Prosperity Gospel

Each week, I’ll be looking at scripture, history, present-day examples, and the ways prosperity theology has moved from pulpits into politics.

This isn't about hating wealthy people.

It's about telling the truth when wealth becomes an idol, power becomes a gospel, and Christianity is used to protect the powerful while blaming the wounded.

I hope you’ll follow along each week.

Because the church doesn't need to bow before mammon.

The church needs to remember who its Lord is.
