Hey there, Squarespacer 👋 meet this week's guest: Krishna Solanki from

Krishna's an award-winning Squarespace designer and visual brand identity expert who's been helping businesses show up online for almost 20 years. She's spoken at Square Design Summit and Squarespace Circle Day, but here's what makes her approach so valuable: she's not just talking about building websites. She's showing you how to package your services so you can actually run your business without drowning in endless proposals and client confusion.

A few years ago, Krishna realized that she was spending way too much time on project management; rewriting proposals, managing constant email ping-pong, dealing with last-minute changes that threw her whole week off. Sound familiar? That's when she created her "Website in a Week" service, and everything changed. Predictable income, happier clients, and way more time for the creative work she actually loves.

In this week's video, Krishna breaks down how the concept of productized services can transform your Squarespace design business. If you've been stuck in the boom-and-bust cycle or feeling exhausted by custom projects, this one's for you. You can check out the video on my channel at youtube.com/insidethesquare

✨ Squarespace just dropped a whole bunch of new upgrades for this years Refresh, so I had to do a write up to add my two cents 😉

From design tweaks like hide-on-device and custom fonts, to AI upgrades, ecommerce tools, domain controls, and even brand-new financial features… this Refresh has a little something for everyone.

As an online business, I have the privilege of setting my own hours, so when my SO gets called in (he’s a paramedic so his hours are wild) I also go to work, and that’s what this weekend is all about. 🙌

Todays top prority is to finish my 5 final videos for September. 3 are recorded, I have 2 more to do, then edit them all, pull transcripts, create descriptions, graphics, blog posts, and schedule them.

I’ve got two more must-do’s on my weekend to-do list (check the comments) and when I finish them ahead of schedule, my reward is working more on Custom Codey 2.0!!

Yes - I love what I do so much that I’m treating myself to more work when my work is done 🤣

Your turn Squarespacer - if you’re working this weekend, or your seeing this post later in the work week, comment your top priority to-dos so we can hold each other accountable, if you want/need the support. I sure do. That’s why I decided to procrastinate by making this post 😜

This isn’t legal advice! This is just me sharing what I personally use to keep my site protected 💻✨

After way too long Googling “free privacy policy generator,” I finally invested in something better:

✅ A Privacy Policy — because I collect emails + use basic analytics

✅ Terms of Use — to set boundaries and protect my work

I grabbed these inside the Website Protection Bundle from It’s easy to customize, and made just for online businesses.

Again, I’m not a lawyer, and this isn’t legal advice, but if you’ve been putting off your website policies, this could be a great place to start.

⚠️ If you’d rather keep AI away from your content, this post is not for you. But if you’re ready to be credited and not just copied, keep reading…

If AI had to choose between two sites, why would it pick yours? 🤔

AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claud don’t “search” the way humans (or SEO bots) do. That means if your site content isn’t optimized for AI, it will skip over you and quote someone else instead.

So what actually matters?
✔️ Clarity & Structure → easy-to-follow language, logical sections
✔️ Coverage & Actionability → full answers, real steps people can use
✔️ Accuracy & Citations → up-to-date, trustworthy, backed by sources
✔️ Format → headings, lists, schema that AI can easily parse

The good news: you don’t need to guess. The AI Optimizer gives you a free 7-point scorecard showing exactly how your site stacks up, and what to improve, so you can become the source AI trusts.

When you look at your Squarespace font menu, it seems kinda strange that we only have four options. Heading, paragraph, buttons, and whatever miscellaneous is 🤨

But those four options are the tip of the iceberg, Squarespacer!! Click on “assign styles” to open the secret font menu with 50+ custom options, from site title to newsletter block description, and the best part? Each one can be assigned a custom font! 😱

TBH - I prefer to stick to 3 font families max in my designs, but I love having more options for size and style.

What about you? Do you stick to one or two fonts, and maybe - just maybe - you have assigned a wildcard using this hidden font menu?! Lemme know in the comments!

Hey there! I’m Becca Harpain, the code queen behind InsideTheSquare.co

I teach Squarespacers how to turn standard templates into super flexible, customizable, and incredibly unique sites.

Wanna know how the pro’s make those standard templates look amazing?! They use CSS! And if the idea of writing CSS code gives ya the heebie jeebies - I’ll let you in on a little secret...

Yup - you read that right. I said it’s easy.

CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheet. It’s what Squarespace uses to tell a browser “that image goes over there.” In CSS, we use the word img for image.
