More than 700 Southwestern Electric members served by our Reno Substation in northern Bond County are without power this morning after a car hit a utility pole. Our crews will work as quickly and safely as they can to get everyone's power back on in a timely fashion. We appreciate your patience.

On 9/23/25 at 3:30pm, the Bond County Fire Chiefs agreed to lift the Burn Ban for all of Bond County.

Please use caution as you resume any burning activities.

Although we have received some rain the last couple of days...

THERE IS STILL IS AN ACTIVE BURN BAN!

Some areas of the County have received more rain than others.. We've seen reports of .2" to 1.25" since the start. Additional rainfall is expected the next few days.

The Bond County Fire Chiefs will reevaluate the conditions after additional rainfall.

Not that its a big shock to anyone, but the Burn Ban is still in effect.

The area Fire Chiefs have done a weekly reevaluation of the weather conditions and agree to continue the current Burn Ban.

Unfortunately, the forecast of any real precipitation over the next 7 days is minimal.

We will continue to monitor and update weekly with any changes.

A few have called or messaged us... and the answer is YES... we are still under a Burn Ban for Bond County.

There is a chance of rain the next couple of days. Although, the amount expected does not look too promising. We will reevaluate after that and post an update.
