Running Out of SD Card Space?

If you’re running multiple cameras, constantly buying bigger SD cards can get expensive. One alternative is carrying an external hard drive and dumping your footage at the end of the day.

A laptop is the easiest option, but you can also do it with an iPad and a USB-C hub.

A few things to remember:

• Format your external drive as exFAT so it works with both Mac and Windows.
• Back up your files before reformatting any drive.
• A 256GB SD card + 4TB external hard drive can be a lot cheaper than buying multiple high-capacity SD cards.

The basic process: Fill the card → transfer your footage → verify it’s there → clear the card → keep filming.

If you’re in the field without a laptop, a small USB-C hub can let you connect everything directly to your iPhone
Just another affordable option for keeping your cameras rolling when storage starts becoming a problem. 🎥🦌

Side note:They also make external drives with an SD card reader built in. They’re probably a great option, but I don’t have any experience with them. Cost-wise, they’ve always been a little out of my budget, so I stick with a basic external drive and hub.

Sometimes the gas station encounters are the craziest thing you’ll ever see. 😂

Meanwhile, I’m just out here fitting right in with the typical deer hunter starter pack: Little Debbie’s and whatever else can legally be considered “food.” 😂

But let’s be honest… if you’ve been on the road or in the woods all day, the gas station is basically a deer hunter’s grocery store.

I know I (Joe) don’t smile much in videos or pictures, but this moment…I couldn’t control the emotion.

Bowhunting has been such a weird experience for me. It can be the most humbling thing in the world. It’ll make you question everything you’re doing, and then in 10 seconds, everything can change.

On this day, a rain front was moving in, so I moved in deep and quick early. I sat for nearly five hours watching with my binos and saw ZERO deer. I started second-guessing everything. Wondering what I had done wrong.

Then I heard it.Leaves wrestling.

And just like that, everything changed.

I moved down the trail system, got into position, and the opportunity came. Shot executed. Target down.

Moral of the story: Don’t beat yourself up too much. Sometimes you’re doing everything right…you just need to wait another 10 seconds
