The Vernon Lions return to the gridiron tonight in Bowie against the Jackrabbits and we will be there to bring you all the action. The District 4-3A, D1 game was originally scheduled for Friday night, however it was moved up a day due to the rainy and stormy forecast for the Bowie area tomorrow night. We will be in Bowie tonight to bring you all the action. Tune in to FM 103.1 or online at network1sports.com/station/kvwc at 6:30 p.m. for the pregame show that will lead right into the 7 p.m. kickoff.

What an honor to cater dinner for the Wade Bowen Band, our incredible firefighters, police officers, and all the hardworking crews who helped make the Bacon City Festival a success this weekend.

The crew enjoyed grilled ribeyes, baked potatoes, salad, rolls, and our cheesecake desserts.

A huge thank you to the City of Vernon for trusting us to be part of such an amazing community event. We’re proud to serve the people who serve our town!

We hope you're hungry for soup next week!! Our 2nd Annual Soup Night is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 28, in the VES Cafeteria. We will be serving a variety of soups and cornbread prepared by our teachers and staff members. This is a free event for all of our students and their families. Students in our Gifted and Talented Program will also have a few science projects on display. We look forward to seeing all of students and their families at this wonderful event.

The Vernon Lady Lions are on the road today, traveling to Henrietta to meet the Lady Cats in a District 7-3A volleyball game. We will be there to bring you all the varsity action. The sub-varsity games begin at 4:30 p.m., with the varsity game scheduled for 6 p.m. We will take the air about 15 minutes before the varsity game.
