Out of all the years of making my nieces birthday cakes, cupcakes & cakepops This year was my favorite! For her 7th birthday party we made her personal cake together.
I hardly showed her how to use a Piping bag and she went to town, didn't need me at all!
She did such a great job 🥰 I'm one proud auntie and I can't wait to do this every year for her birthday 🥰

So I've been ready for Halloween since July, but making these multicolored Halloween Cupcakes has got me even more excited and into the Halloween Spirit! 👻
How cute are they!?
I don't think I've ever done this before with mini cupcakes and that really blows my mind 🤯

🔸️Small tip, did you know you can bake cakes/cupcakes in advance and freeze for up to two months? Just make sure to wrap cake in plastic wrap and then in foil. Cupcakes can go into a freezer bag. Just be sure to thaw in the fridge the day before and simple syrup them! 🤗

I do this when I have a big event coming up and would like to prep things in advance, so I'm not driving myself crazy trying to do too much!
I PROMISE they taste absolutely 100% fresh and moist!

This is the first time I got to make a cake like this! 🤣 It was so fun to do a 3D sculpted cake again and I think maybe I should be a fashion designer too because I'd totally wear that bra if it was a real 😂

Our Story

Hi there! :) I am Allyson Wilcox, and this is my new bakery blog! Butter & Love Cakery started because of my mother. we opened as a mother-daughter duo when we took the exciting leap to start a Home Bakery, in January of 2018, to selling baked goods to the public after baking for our family and friends for years. I mainly wanted to open this bakery so more people could taste the delicious baked goods my mom makes, and that I grew up loving. I grew up with all homemade food and desserts made by her which inspired me to get in the kitchen at a young age and help her which eventually lead to my love for baking & cake decorating and now me trying to learn as much as possible about food.

Because of my search to learn more about Baking and Pastry we decided to close the home bakery (for now) on July 27th 2019, so I could move and fulfill my desire to continue my education in this field.

I will still be baking (of course) and posting regularly on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and my Blog But for now this will be a bakery blogging page, sharing my journey and experiences with those who are interested! :)

More about our background!

My Mother Mary Wilcox is a self-taught baker & cook, who has perfected many family recipes over the years, as well as, creating many of her own. Many of her recipes were inspired by her grandmother who helped her find her love for baking. Some which were included in the delicious baked goods that were sold by Butter and Love Cakery. Mary chose, very early on, to use only the best ingredients, including NON-GMO & Organic choices, whether it be to cook for her family or the Bakery, Mary and Allyson both agree that fresh is best!

Allyson Wilcox is ServSafe certified by the National Restaurant Association which is Accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). She found her love for cooking and baking at a young age, due to her mother always allowing her to be involved in the kitchen. Once she graduated high school she enrolled in a culinary program where she finally felt “at home” in a learning environment. She then got her certification and after years of creating cakes and cupcakes for family and friends just as a hobby, she finally decided to take the leap with her mother to open their in-home business Butter & Love Cakery, where is the cake designer and decorator. She is also planning to go to Pastry School where she can further her learning of Baking and Pastry.

Why the name Butter & Love Cakery?

Mary Wilcox chose the name Butter & Love. It was a name she would have used if she ever got the chance to make her dream come true and open her own bakery shop. Allyson brought up the Idea of the home bakery and added the Cakery since their specialty is cakes. Butter, because we only use butter in all our baked goods, no oil or soy products. Love because all our baked goods are made with love. It is something we love to do, love to create and love to share.
