Fall travel is amazing… but fall weather can be tricky. 🍂

This is the season where the forecast can look simple, but the actual day can feel like three different seasons in one trip.

Before you pack, think beyond the temperature on your weather app.

A few practical tips:

✅ Pack layers
A light jacket, sweater, or cardigan can save you when mornings and evenings are cooler than expected.

✅ Plan for temperature swings
Fall days may start chilly, warm up by lunch, and cool down fast after sunset.

✅ Bring rain-friendly basics
A compact umbrella, poncho, or water-resistant jacket can make a big difference.

✅ Choose shoes wisely
Wet leaves, uneven sidewalks, muddy paths, and long walking days can make cute-but-uncomfortable shoes a bad decision.

✅ Check the forecast again right before you leave
Fall weather can shift quickly, especially in mountain towns, theme park destinations, and coastal areas.

The goal is not to overpack.

It’s to be prepared enough that the weather doesn’t control the trip.

These are a few of my favorite places to send travelers for the holidays! ✨🎄

There’s something extra special about traveling this time of year—and whether your idea of Christmas includes twinkling lights and cozy sweaters or sunshine and palm trees, there’s a trip for you.

My holiday travel wish list:

🎁 Walt Disney World — Christmas magic everywhere you look
🎁 New York City — Rockefeller Center, the Rockettes & iconic holiday sights
🎁 European Christmas Markets — Germany, Austria, France… or see several on a river cruise
🎁 A Caribbean Cruise — sunshine, turquoise water & a ship decked out for Christmas
🎁 A Luxury Caribbean All-Inclusive — beautiful beaches, amazing food & no holiday cooking or cleaning

One thing I WILL say: holiday travel is not something I recommend waiting until the last minute to book. The best rooms, cabins and options can disappear quickly.

A big-box booking option may hand you a package and assume you know what you want.

A travel advisor helps you think through:
✈️ who’s going
🏨 what kind of stay makes sense
💰 what your budget really needs to cover
📍 what location actually works
🧳 what details could make or break the trip
📞 who you can call when questions come up

Sometimes you need a cart full of paper towels.

Sometimes you need a real person who knows how to help you travel better.

International arrivals can be a lot.

You’re tired.
You’re finding luggage.
You’re trying to locate transportation.
Your phone signal may be unreliable.
And your card may suddenly decide your gelato purchase looks suspicious.

Before you leave, take a few minutes to:

✅ notify your bank or card issuer that you’ll be traveling
✅ download offline maps for your destination
✅ save your hotel address
✅ screenshot your transfer or arrival details
✅ make sure you have a backup payment method

These are small steps, but they can make your first day abroad feel so much smoother.
