On November 8th of 1971, David Bowie began recording the album Ziggy Stardust. The studio he chose for this project, Trident Studios in Soho, London, was starting to ride a long wave of #1 hits for artists like Manfred Mann, The Beatles and Elton Johns. The list of songs that came afterwards, songs now recognized as classics, is even more impressive.

In Episode 20 of Bootlegs and Beers, I dive into the history of Trident Studios and showcase the artists and their songs, the engineers on the other side of the glass, and the gear that they all had at their disposal to create such iconic music.

Be on the lookout for BAB Ep. 20, due out in the coming days.

So, this is going down and I said to myself.. wouldn’t it be cool to get the band over to Sound Stage Studio for an episode of BAB? Email sent. Fingers crossed.

Give this a like and a share. I think that’s how it works.

The crusade against Spotify from different artists continues.

Recently, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard released a statement on Instagram, informing their fans that they would remove their music from the streaming service.

“Hello friends. A PSA to those unaware: Spotify CEO Daniel Ek invests millions in Al military drone technology. We just removed our music from the platform. Can we put pressure on these Dr. Evil tech bros to do better? Join us on another platform,” the group writes.

Mixcloud analytics gives me a pretty good idea of who is listening to Bootlegs and Beers. For example, I can tell you that bputzke was the #1 listener this past week, followed by hillbillyjed and kootlove69.

Y'all have tuned in to BAB Ep.18 for over 42,000 minutes so far, and we have 6 new followers. This episode has been re-streamed at least 6 times and we have captured listeners from all over the world including Marugame Japan, Pohiheim Germany, and Invercargill New Zealand. Here in the US we've reached Columbus, Newark, Tulsa, Roslyn, and HOLLYWOOD.

Lastly (and I just love this), I had 14 people favorite one of my Phish recordings from 2016. I can only guess how something like that happens.

Anyway... thank you all for your support and feel free to tell your friends what they're missing.
