In the world of Ruth Martin, art is not a separate pursuit, it is something lived, absorbed, and quietly accumulated over a lifetime.

This feature opens the doors to her home and studio, offering an intimate look into a practice shaped not by a single defining moment, but by decades of observation, experience, and transformation.

What defines Ruthโ€™s work is not only medium or technique, but attention: to light shifting across water, to fleeting moments in nature, to the quiet geometry of everyday life.

There is a clarity in her approach: to see more deeply, to notice what is often overlooked, and to translate those fragments of beauty into something enduring.

What began as an everyday drive through familiar streets slowly turned into something harder to ignore: the quiet absence of care in the very spaces that define a town.

In Vero Beach, three womenโ€”Jordan Wakeland, Deana Marchant, and Cindy Oโ€™Dareโ€”did not set out to launch a movement. They set out to fix what felt unfinished.

๐—š๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ป ๐—›๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜ ๐—ง๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ emerged not from a single defining moment, but from a series of decisions to keep goingโ€”one planter, one partnership, one funded project at a time.

Today, their work is visible across Ocean Drive and beyond. But the deeper transformation is less about what has been planted, and more about what has been activated: a renewed sense of responsibility for shared space, and a reminder that change often begins at the local level, with those willing to persist when outcomes are not guaranteed.

Two months. Two issues. A collection of stories shaped by people who continue to leave a lasting mark on Vero Beach and beyond.

Our April and May Issues explore craftsmanship, creativity, community, and the people willing to dedicate themselves fully to what they believe in.

Each story began differently. Together, they form a portrait of a place defined not only by where it is, but by the individuals who continue to shape its culture with intention, care, and persistence.

This reel is a look back at the conversations, moments, and perspectives that defined the past two months of LIV VERO Magazine.

Some stories are shaped by waves. Others by the people who dedicate their lives to understanding them.

For our May Issue, we sat down with surfer and master shaper ๐— ๐—ถ๐—ธ๐—ฒ ๐—›๐—ฎ๐˜„๐—ธ๐—ถ๐—ป๐˜€, ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—ฆ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ถ๐—ฐ ๐—ฆ๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ณ๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฑ๐˜€, a name deeply woven into the surf culture of Floridaโ€™s Treasure Coast for more than three decades.

Mikeโ€™s journey is more than a story about surfboards. Itโ€™s about craftsmanship, community, travel, and a lifelong pursuit of refinement, shaping boards by hand, one detail at a time.

This is a story about passion becoming legacy, and about staying connected to the ocean, the culture, and the people who make it all meaningful.

Some magazines are created to inform. Others are created to be experienced.

In this monthโ€™s Editorโ€™s Letter, we define the editorial blueprint guiding every issue we produce. At the heart of the magazine is a simple belief: every story should carry weight, every page should reward attention, and every issue should unfold as a unified experience rather than a collection of unrelated parts.

Inspired by the timeless influence of publications such as ๐ฟ๐‘–๐‘“๐‘’ and ๐ฟ๐‘œ๐‘œ๐‘˜ Magazine, ๐ฟ๐ผ๐‘‰ ๐‘‰๐ธ๐‘…๐‘‚ continues to pursue depth, beauty, narrative rhythm, and cultural relevance.

Because the goal has never been to fill pages. It has always been to create something worth experiencing.

At Vero Beach Polo Club, the game is only part of the story!

Often called โ€œThe Sport of Kings,โ€ polo in Vero feels surprisingly approachable. Spectators stomp divots between matches, children grow up alongside the sport, and players share the same field with a spirit that feels deeply rooted in camaraderie.

There is elegance here, certainly. But there is also warmth, accessibility, and a sense that everyone belongs close to the action.

What makes the club remarkable is not only the athleticism or tradition, but the way it continually gives back to the community through local partnerships, nonprofit support, and a culture centered around bringing people together.

Because at Vero Beach Polo Club, Sundays are not simply about watching a match. They are about experiencing a way of life uniquely Vero.

For the ๐— ๐—ฎ๐˜† ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐˜€๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜† of LIV VERO Magazine, we spotlight the women behind the Green Heart Tribe โ€” Jordan Wakeland, Deana Marchant, and Cindy Oโ€™Dare โ€” whose determination, creativity, and persistence are quietly transforming the landscape of Vero Beach.

What started as a conversation about neglected medians and public spaces evolved into something much larger: a community-driven movement rooted in pride, purpose, and the belief that beauty has the power to bring people together.

This monthโ€™s cover story is not simply about flowers or fundraising. It is about what happens when people stop waiting for change, and begin creating it themselves.

From recovery at home to moments that require the most delicate type of support, their work moves beyond facilities and into real lifeโ€”where comfort, dignity, and trust matter most.

A presence that doesnโ€™t interrupt life, but becomes part of it when itโ€™s needed most.

In a city where every street, shoreline, and sunset tells part of a larger story, leadership becomes living history.

Mayor John Cotugno stands at that intersection โ€” balancing heritage and hope, stewardship and vision โ€” as Vero Beach navigates growth, community values, and the next chapter of its identity.

From waterfront dreams to downtown streets, his story reflects the rhythm of a place shaped by people, passion, and possibility.
