“My interest has always been working in mental health but more specifically focusing on youth mental health,” Brown said. “I experienced personal traumas growing up, so I know what it’s like to be in a crisis state and need support and access to resources that might be outside of someone’s community.”

Our Youth Services Coordinator is incredibly special. She recently served as the keynote speaker for The Altamont School’s Teen Mental Health Fair in partnership with GirlSpring.

Thank you to Over the Mountain Journal for covering the fair, it’s organizers and impact!

Our Knights continued their Christmas stewardship service tradition of donating children's winter coats to local organizations that serve families and children. As part of their "Coats for Kids" program, 108 coats of various sizes were given to Holy Family Catholic Church and School, Pathway Women's Shelter, Grace Klein Community, and the Salvadorian Sisters. These groups than delivered the coats to the children whom they serve. Awesome job POP Knights!! Get to know the POP weekender backpack ministry! This stewardship service ministry provides bags of food to food-insecure students who otherwise might go hungry over the weekend when they do not have access to school meals. Volunteers meet monthly to assemle the backpacks of nonperishable items which ar then distributed to local schools who then distribute them discretely to the students. If you'd like to get involved, visit www.popcatholic.org and look for the weekender backpack ministry on our homepage.
