Here is the plan for today - I will endeavor to get show #252 out on the virtual airwaves of Mixcloud today (Friday, November 14th) at 3:47 PM ET or so, with the official program starting at 4:00 PM.

Glad to see The Cure has been nominated for two Grammy awards this year.

Although I feel that The Grammys as a whole are a bit dubious, with the many years of seemingly random, uninformed, and at times tonedeaf nominations, it would be nice for Robert and the band to be recognized for their best work in many years.

The Cure received nominations for Best Alternative Album and Best Alternative Performance at the 2026 Grammys.

It was a little bit weird not being on the air last Friday. Halloween was fun, although we only saw about 25 kids in a neighborhood of 700 or so houses.

I am looking forward to getting back in front of a hot stove (okay, more like a slightly overworked desktop) and cooking up something tasty for you all to enjoy tomorrow (Friday, November 7th) at 3:44 PM ET.

Don't worry, I plan to make plenty for everyone!

Also, I want to send out a special thanks and shout-out to longtime listener, and all-around great and talented guy Steve Close, who created this amazing artwork that features a new and exciting twist on the classic Corningware pattern.

Hello friends! I just wanted to take a minute to let you all know that there will not be a (Mostly) 80s Happy Hour livestream this Friday, so that I may take a little break and enjoy Halloween with my lovely wife.

It is always amazing to see the looks of happiness and excitement when we start handing out the goodies to all the little ones!

Although I am taking Friday off, I have it on good authority that my friend and fellow Mixcloud DJ star Badger Kelley may be performing a special episode of his Groovy Train show. The Groovy Train is a cool collage of remixes you have not heard a million times, folded into a blend of classic club tracks that you will really want to hear!

Tomorrow I will be performing my 250th (Mostly) 80s Happy Hour livestream on Mixcloud.

I generally take a peek on Google to see significant things that are attached to the number of the episode, in this case, 250. What I found was, for the most part, underwhelming.

Supposedly, In Chinese slang, "250" (二百五) is a derogatory term for a stupid or foolish person.

To be fair, I feel neither stupid, nor foolish for spending the last 5+ years' worth of Fridays putting on these shows.

The show has given me a way to meet many amazing new friends who, like me, cherish listening to (mostly) 80s music in the company of other like-minded individuals, while participating in a lively and sometimes hilarious chat room.

It has also allowed me to interact with and become friends with many talented fellow DJs who also value Mixcloud and have made it an important part of their lives as well.

The show has also made me a better DJ, and I like to believe a better person at the same time.

I am delighted to be in this position to have the opportunity to entertain you all again, for the 250th time tomorrow (Friday, October 24th.) It would mean so much to me if you can find a few minutes of your busy day to join in on the fun.

Thank you all so much for your participation, patience, friendship and enthusiastic support and kindness during this time, I am hoping that we can have the good fortune to be a part of many more of these shows in the future.

Another busy work week heads for the record books.

Sorry that I neglected to post any manner of promotion for my 249th livestream, which happens today (October 17th) at 3:49 PM ET!

The show will be comprised of about 50 tracks, most of them from the 80s, hopefully presented in an order and fashion that is pleasing to the ear.

I am also hopeful that the chat room is lively and fun, the slideshow is entertaining, especially to those who may be recent arrivals, and the show ends at the appointed time.
