BREAKING NEWS: DEWALT® Battery-Powered Mowers Trying to Do More Than Just Cut Your Grass!
In a shocking turn of events (okay, maybe not that shocking), DEWALT® has issued a recall for their Battery Walk-Behind Mowers sold from January to July 2024. Turns out, these bad boys might give you a little more than you bargained for if used when wet – a laceration hazard, to be exact. Because who knew mowing the lawn could turn into an extreme sport?

Affected models include the Push Walk-Behind Mowers (DCMWP234U2, DCMWP600X2) and the Self-Propelled Walk-Behind Mowers (DCMWSP256U2, DCMWSP650Y2). If you happen to own one of these, it’s probably best to put it in time-out, especially if it’s had a run-in with some rain.

But fear not! DEWALT® says safety is their "first priority" (after, you know, giving you a machine that could double as a blender in wet conditions). You can stop using your mower immediately and contact DEWALT® for a free repair – because nothing says "oops" like fixing it for free.

An unusual new addition to the DeWALT 20V tool lineup is the cordless magnetic drill press DCD1624 XR Brushless. This tool is primarily designed for drilling holes up to ø50 mm in steel structures. It features two mechanical gears with 5 settings each, offering the user a total of 10 speed modes to choose from. The ANTI-ROTATION safety feature prevents accidents by automatically shutting off the machine when the bit jams or the tool is overloaded. And, of course, they’ve added a bright LED to light up the drilling area. Dealer pricing for the DeWALT DCD1624B (tool only) on Western platforms is $1999. The DCD1624GX2 version, which includes a charger and two FLEXVOLT 9.0Ah batteries in a case, is available for $2999.

DeWALT has decided to treat owners of the TOUGHSYSTEM® 2.0 DXL™ modular storage system with special accessory mounting kits. Two sets have been introduced: DWST086502 and DWST086503. The DeWALT DWST086502 includes hooks, brackets, containers for consumables, and metal clips. In the DeWALT DWST086503 set, instead of containers, there are mounts, clamps, and battery brackets.
