For ten years I held a personal trainer certification, but during that same time I discovered my love of CrossFit.
I attended nearly every CrossFit specialty seminar offered; CrossFit Kids, CrossFit Running & Endurance, CrossFit Kettlebell, CrossFit Mobility, CrossFit Gymnastics, CrossFit Powerlifting, CrossFit Football, CrossFit Olympic Lifting, Level 1 & Level 2 CrossFit Courses & the USAW Level 1 Weightlifting Course.
I started training clients out of our garage, and the clientele continued to grow. We ran out of space and time. Then one day we made the leap of faith to start in 2011.
Between the family growing and working full time, my time coaching in the gym seized. I continued my online coaching business for a long time but once the second baby came it was nearly impossible to balance everything.
Coaching is in my DNA 🧬 and I’ll be back one day 💕💕

✨Fitness has taken a turn in my life, more than once.

💪🏼Physique competitions, to being lean year round so I was always ready for modeling opportunities or fitness expo events.

Finding which ultimately changed my training to CrossFit. 🏋🏻‍♀️

To CrossFit competitions.

But as an “older mom” my mindset took a shift. My kids depend on me which means I need to be as healthy as possible for as long as possible.

Even though I have years of experience, doesn’t mean that it’s been easy.

➡️I can tell you, it was easy to go train whenever I wanted to. It was easier to only need to lose 3-5lb for events. It was easy to stay at the gym for long periods of time. It was easy to prep food for only one person.

Then I had kids, and a full time job outside of the gym. Nothing has been easy since then.
And losing 20-30lb postpartum IS THE HARDEST THING I’VE EVER DONE (other than pregnancy itself) 3 separate times. It’s hard work every single day. Counting macros, making healthy food choices, not quitting, choosing to be consistent at the gym. Showing up for yourself even when you don’t want to —- THAT IS HARD.

💫You say you’d do anything for your family, but if you’re not taking care of your own health then you’re doing your family a huge disservice.💫

Side effects you’ll love: improved mood, better stress management, better lab work, clothes fit better, increased confidence, strength, & better sleep. Anything else you can add to the list?

💕Being a mom is hard work, it’s hard to be *ON* 24/7, to always regulate our own emotions when our childrens are all over the place, rarely getting to “sit and relax.” ➡️Here are things most moms aren’t doing that would greatly affect how they can manage their mood & stress as a busy mom 🫶🏼1. Meal Prepping -this doesn’t mean pre portion meals (but you can if you want) it means to bulk cook your main items: chicken, ground beef, etc. have it ready to dish out during the week. ✨ always have snacks on hand- CHOMPS, Lara Bars, RX Bars, apples, etc. fueling your body greatly affects your mood, mama! 2. Taking Magnesium & Vit D/K2 —I will die on this hill. These two vitamins are like little magical pills. They affect nearly EVERY single function of your body. Sleep, mood, how you handle stress/anger…these are things that will determine our patience for the day and mama, we know how that goes some days 🫣3. Being consistent in the gym Our health and wellbeing are a top contributor to how well we handle daily stress. It’s also the best, natural mood boost we can get 💪🏼4. Sleep Sleep affects everything. No other explanation needed here. Although as a mom of 3 who were up multiple times a night for a long time, I can understand that period of time and how hard it is. During that time I focused on the first 3 like it was my job, and you can too 💕🫶🏼

đź’¬ Social media will mask the reality of most things. Only showing the highlights & making it seem like people live a perfect life.

🤍 Postpartum is hard enough, then to see other moms looking perfectly fit, no sign of a pregnancy and back into their pre pregnancy clothes 6 weeks later would probably make other moms feel like “my body is ruined” - but I’m here to tell you it’s not 🫶🏼

Insta posts are perfectly posed, perfectly covered to show only what looks great. The majority of us are wearing clothes multiple sizes larger than usual, not sharing the extra skin or relaxed bellies.

Our bodies created & grew an entire human and will most likely have something to show for it. đź’• stretch marks, extra skin, wider hips, bigger feet, or scars.

But this does not mean you are ruined. You are strong, you are capable & you are a mom 🤍 you have so much more purpose than what you think. Your kids will never grow up and talk about your extra skin. They’ll grow up and talk about how amazing you were.

As a mom, I first hand know how much better all moms would feel if they focused on their health & nutrition because that’s the one things # that helped me get through postpartum 3 separate times. The two best medications we can give ourselves to get through such a trying time in life; nutrition and exercise. You literally feel like a new person and it makes you appreciate all our body can do 🫶🏼 and how it’s not ruined, it’s stronger and more capable than ever.

To the woman who was asked more times than she could count “when are you guys having a baby?” and feeling sad because you couldn’t answer. So you’d just say “someday, we aren’t ready yet” but secretly prayed for it every month for years.

I understand.

To the woman battling fertility appointments, treatments, invasive procedures, shot after shot, disappointing news, unknown outcomes, anxiety and so many tears.

I understand.

To the woman staring at a positive pregnancy test, feeling shock, crying, thinking “I can’t do this.”

I understand.

What a wild ride I went on over the last 8 years to have babies, then to feel so upset over a positive pregnancy test and feel the complete opposite of emotions was a very confusing time for me. Nearly my entire pregnancy I didn’t know how to process how I felt.

But, here’s our little surprise guy. And I couldn’t imagine him not being here, now ♥️

Saturday was silent, surely it was through…

But, since when has impossible, ever stopped you?

Friday’s disappointment is Sunday’s empty tomb…

Since when has impossible, ever stopped you?

Rattle 🎶 by Elevation Worship is in my top 2 worship songs. And it’s such an amazing Easter song.

This is such a great reminder that, through Christ, all things are possible. But also that beauty can shine through the ashes…our current situation isn’t our final situation ♥️
