Have you ever wanted to write a book, novel, short story, magazine article, etc., but weren't sure what to do with the piece when finished with it? That is what The Polished Nib does; we give your work a polish to make it shine by editing it for you. What does an editor do? We go in and clean up your work. We search for run-on and incomplete sentences, and offer suggestions to make it better. We l
ook to see that your work flows together. We check subject/verb agreement. We make sure of correct word usage. We also fix spelling and grammar errors by going over the whole piece, word by word. How much does it cost? That depends on the level of work involved. We are flexible in this area, so negotiating is encouraged. It is not, however, free of charge. :-)
Also, we can help with formatting for publication, either as hard copy (a book you can hold in your hands) or as an ebook. Again, fees depend upon what all is needed, because formatting can be time-consuming work. What experience do we have? I have been editing books in my head for 40 years, and my husband has done the same for about 50 years. As far as professional editing, we have helped with three published works, and two that have not yet been published. The first published work was a short story that took place during World War II. The second was a book of poetry, written by my aunt. The third was a Christian non-fiction book. If you have any other questions, please feel free to send them to: [email protected]. Most questions will be answered the same day. We are just getting started in this business, and would love the chance to impress you! Thank you for checking us out!
