L O O K   A T   M E   N O W   |

Well, well, well...look who is movin’ and shakin’ in 2021! It’s **me**. I sold my home at the end of 2020, moved to Atlanta, GA in March, and shifted my business from primarily weddings to solely portraiture. It HaS bEeN sO eAsY aNd FuN yOu ShOuLd TrY iT sOmEtImE 😂😂😳😳🤪🤪

LOL it has been A LOT of change. However, I’m delighted to share that - even though I am now *officially* a Georgia peach - I will be in Waco for Homecoming weekend to cheer on the Baylor Bears and am offering a few holiday sessions while in town (and a handful in Dallas as well). This feels so comforting and joyful as I absolutely ADORE the holiday sessions every year.

Also, let’s be honest, I am ✨INCREDIBLE✨ at these. And so are y’all. Going on *seven* years now, I never cease to be amazed at how many fun, silly, touching, stunning, and just plain gorgeous photographs we make in fifty minutes. There is some kind of magic we conjure up and all the connection, personality, humor, and drop dead good looks of you and your family shine through EVERY. SINGLE. SESSION.

E S S E N C E

Here’s the thing: not all kids are the same. Why make photos of kids that are all the same? Each child, each person is so exquisitely their own. My favorite thing on this earth is to observe someone as their most authentic self and let the wonder of their specific design become clear to me, and then - just enjoy it. Little kids are usually the best subjects for this as they are so magnificently unfiltered.

How wonderful to have photos that capture the essence of a person. To display a photo is to offer celebration for its subject. When the core of someone is celebrated and cherished, when all of who they are belongs suddenly life becomes magic. If every single part of us was embraced, what couldn’t we do?

Do you have a photo of yourself or your children that fully holds the individual loveliness of their being at any one stage of life? I’ll be honest with you, I don’t have many myself. But I hope to give these types of photographs to every single client. So years from now you can look back and be flooded with the texture, tenor, and noise of a season of life. There is nothing more magnetic than a soul lit up and fully themselves.

L A S T C A L L

🔥 It's the end of an era my friends! November 8 I am closing my Waco studio as I prepare to move to Belgium in 2020. This move is happening at an accelerated pace and even is taking this turtle 🐢 by surprise! I've been working on this, actually, for about 3 years. The time is finally right, so just like that it is time for the next chapter. ✨

I have my last wedding Nov 9 for *the best couple* and it will be bittersweet. Family photography will be my main focus moving forward 💓 and I will keep you all updated on the next iteration of Kathryn Krueger Photography INTERNATIONAL, ha! Europe knows what's good and I am *so excited* for this adventure. ⚡️

So RUN don't walk and if you want to snag one of my last 5 Waco Holiday Sessions, the link is in my bio. Austin has 4 sessions left and I would LOVE to photograph your families before the big move.

💥There will be some FANTASTIC furniture I will post here and/or over on my personal account. We will end this chapter with a bang and I am so incredibly grateful for everyone that has chosen my studio to be a part of the most important parts of your lives.

The day has arrived and the big announcement is LIVE: we are so excited to announce the launch of my refreshed brand and website!
After 3 years of loving the previous site, it was time for a cleaner, more elegant look that allows the photographs to be the focus. We adore the simple sophistication has brought with the brand refresh. Thank you Dave & Brock!!!
We hope you will join us as we get back into sharing stories and photographs that move, amuse, and delight us. ( ). We have TONS of work in the queue and are looking forward to sharing both new and archived stories. Cheers to a brilliant finish to 2016 and new things in 2017!

A westward facing building amplified the setting sun and we got right in the middle of its artful patterns. This light is only available for about 20 minutes when the sun sinks low enough to kiss the reflective windows until it coyly hides behind a parking garage and disappears into the horizon.

Here's the thing: in my job I see LOTS of amazing photos in LOTS of amazing places. Sometimes I am the person making those photos in those places. For many years however, and most of the time even now, I work in small(ish)-town Waco. Very early on I learned it is a losing game and poverty of mind to consider the glamor of those other cities and countries the only place of opportunity to excel in my industry.

Slowly, I felt a faint whisper encouraging me that it is better to daily be in the same place with the same ingredients (if you will) being pushed to make something with a different flavor, color, and character than the last thing you made. You will be able to reduce elements down to something concentrated, intense, and new; add to those elements to make something complex and intriguing. In this way you become an expert on simple things. Your eyes are able to see what others can not. In fact, after working with many students over the years at photography workshops, I am perplexed by how many aren't even really aware of what the ingredients to a great photo are.

Therefore, all small town photographers REJOICE! We are in the best school to learn how to identify and control what is given to us and extract the best, rather than be overwhelmed, unintentional, and wasteful with an abundance of opportunity we aren't sure what to make of. I become most alive in taking photos when I KNOW I am being given a fleeting gift of light or moment or composition, forget everything else around me, and chase down that image with single-minded focus.

For if you can make great images in the most ordinary of places, YOU then become what is extraordinary in the equation. You become an alchemist - transforming simple, base matter into gold.

Cheers to making the most of what you are given, for surely it will multiply as you embrace it in full.

Dana Mays and Spencer Septién 's wedding was not only a fabulous party complete with Mariachi's + sombreros at The Phoenix Ballroom, it was also perfectly styled by the oh-so-clever Kindred Event Studio with paper goods designed by CEDAR GANDY .
