A little boy lay in the hospital, scared and sobbing. Doctors couldn’t calm him — until a nearby police officer gently asked, “Can I hold him?” The boy soon stopped crying, resting his head on the officer’s chest. With the weight of his gear, the officer sat on the bed and held him until he fell asleep. “It was just human instinct,” he said. “He needed someone.” It wasn’t about the badge — just compassion. Heavenly Father,
As this week comes to a close, I thank You for guiding me through every moment.
Thank You for the victories, the lessons, the blessings seen and unseen.
Lord, I place in Your hands the burdens of this week—the worries, the mistakes, the things I could not control.
Cleanse my heart and renew my spirit as I enter this night.
Surround my home with Your peace. Let rest refresh my body and soul.
Guard my dreams with Your presence, and let tomorrow awaken with new hope and strength.
