Here's an interpretation of John 12:31-36, what I learned this Sunday at both Christ Church Accokeek & Encounter Christian Center - ECCMD:
The World on Trial
Judgment day isn't some distant event; it's unfolding right now. Jesus says, "Now is the judgment of this world; now will the ruler of this world be cast out." This isn't just about the final days; it's about a present reality. The world we know—the one full of its own rules, its own pride, and its own ways of doing things—is being judged in this very moment. When Christ came, He put an end to the devil’s reign, pulling back the curtain on the lie that we can live however we want without consequences. The devil, the "ruler of this world," is already on his way out.
