The longer story:
THE BEST LAID PLANS OF MICE AND MEN
This was going to be my first launch done right. I made all my A+ content. I published the ebook a few days early to get some reviews of verified-purchased books. I planned for the paperback to go live two days before Thanksgiving so it would get help from Black Friday traffic. And I had a good advertising budget.

And then? The book got stuck in publishing mode at Amazon. I had never had that happen before. I didn't know it was a thing. But apparently ... it's a thing. I went back and forth with Amazon at least twenty times. They kept telling me they had no way of unsticking it. They finally told me to just buy a new ISBN and publish the book again.

And then, just as mysteriously it got stuck, it was unstuck.

All this to say: God does what he wants to do. We plan and work as we should, but God decides how much fruit to give to any work and when to give it. And that's supremely comforting. Because God always knows best and God always does right.

And now he has seen fit to let this one be published. Just in time for Christmas.

This is such a fun book. It's good on so many levels. There's a great relationship between Pete and his mother. The little sister just watches her big brother through the whole book and learns from him as little sisters always do. The illustrations are so adorable (I just love that one little bare foot). And the book is hilarious which children's books ought to be if all possible.

So ... buy it. You'll like it.

So I'm trying out my new-ish publisher page and it took me five minutes to figure out how to post ... this tech stuff ... too hard for us old folks. But I persevered and here I am to ask you all, if you have not seen these posts on my personal page and/or acted on said posts, to please download a free ebook today and leave a review.

MAY I PLEASE HAVE A DOG is a funny picture book for children aged 4-8. It 's written and illustrated by best-selling author/illustrator Kelly Pulley, and I think you'll like it.

Paperbacks will go on sale tomorrow, but for now I'm trying to get some reviews posted on the free e-book to juice up Amazon algorithms. So ... if you have five minutes to give me ... I'd be grateful.

I've had my head down, taking marketing classes. I want to ramp up my publishing in 2024. I'm learning a ton. So here I am, with a posts on this long-neglected page and also ... with a brand-spanking-new Instagram account.

Yes, I know it's way late for Instagram and I should be doing TikTok, however, this is how I roll. Always a bit behind the pack. And I'm OK with that.
