They weren’t gonna let me win. It was over. I was done trying to make everything perfect. Done trying to anticipate the right move. Done knitting an impenetrable safety net. F**k me? F**k me? No, f**k you! I threw on a shirt and charged through my back porch then along the side passage of my landlord’s house and rang the doorbell. I think he was shocked to see me so early or maybe it was because I was still in my underwear. F**k.
