We would like to write one final post in regards to Jesse and clear up some misinformation and to thank all the wonderful and amazing people who helped us throughout this tragic time.
Why Jesse was in the cave and if someone was with him and just left him there, we may never know and we have to be ok with that. If someone did just walk away and leave him there, their judgement will come one day. But in the end, it was Jesse's choices that led to his death.
As for who alerted police to there being a body in the cave, there were so many theories and suppositions and questions. It was actually two of Jesse's siblings who went into the cave to look for him and found his coat. They immediately left the cave and called the police. There was no alert to there being a body in there. When the police went in, they confirmed the coat was Jesse's and began a search. We were notified later that evening of a body being found that was most likely Jesse.
We kindly ask that names stop being thrown around as having done something to Jesse. It is not fair to them to have their names thrown out so casually and wreak havoc in their lives for something that's not true.
We want to thank the entire Northern Lehigh community for your help, your thoughts and prayers, your suggestions, your vigilance in looking for Jesse, and for the many many kind words about Jesse. Thank you for not judging him and not having biases about his unfortunate choice to relapse after almost 20 years clean. Jesse did not have a criminal record, was never arrested, and never in trouble with the law. He just suffered in his own head and made misguided choices to "medicate" himself. From all the beautiful messages people posted it was clear he was a nice guy to everyone and we thank you for sharing your stories and kind words.
Thank you to the PA State Police and especially Trooper Snyder who believed us, took us seriously, and listened to us from day one. We were treated respectfully and with kindness and compassion the entire time. This was not our experience with other agencies and that was extremely hard on us. We felt lost and helpless. Once PSP started investigating, things happened and we were kept informed the entire time.
We would like to thank the Lehigh County Emergency Management for their assistance, using drone submarines to locate Jesse's body and the The Diamond Fire Company of Walnutport - Fire Station for the water retrieval of Jesse's body.
Another gracious thank you to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office & Forensic Center especially to Dylan who treated us with the utmost respect and compassion. Who invited us to sit down and go over all the reports and explain things to us and answer all our questions with such kindness.
We are truly grateful and blessed for all the wonderful and amazing people who were so kind and empathetic to what we were going through. The amount of support we received through meal donations, gofundme donations and just everyday needs assistance was astounding and we love our community so much for how truly awesome everyone is.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for every single kind word, kind act, help, and understanding we received.
Jesse would have been blown away by how much love was shown.
