Warmer conditions will stick around through Monday, then near normal temperatures will return following the passage of a cold front. That front will bring some light rain showers tonight into Monday night, especially over the eastern Ozarks.

Temperatures will be slightly above normal today and Monday with light southerly winds. Scattered showers are possible Monday ahead of a cold front. There may also be areas of fog through the day. That cold front will knock temperatures back below freezing Monday night through the middle of the week.

Temperatures will be much warmer over the weekend and into early next week. The next chance for widespread precipitation is on Monday.

02/14/2020

Sunny but cold today with highs in the mid 30’s! A few clouds will skirt the region this evening with a clearing sky by 10pm. Temperatures will cool to the upper 20’s however an increasing Southeast wind should push the temperatures back up by morning.

Sunshine Saturday morning will give way to a mostly cloudy sky by afternoon. No rain is forecast but the clouds should hold highs to the upper 40’s. The wind is also forecast to be rather gusty Saturday at times approaching 30 mph.

A partly to mostly cloudy sky is also forecast for Sunday. High temperatures should continue warming to the upper 50’s. Monday should be mild with lows in the mid 40’s. Highs many manage to crack 60 degrees in spots.

Light rain is possible but this is not a big event so amounts should stay under a quarter of an inch. A little light rain is also possible Tuesday as the system departs the region. Temperatures will cool back below average.

In fact the rest of the week should see highs in the 40’s with lows in the mid to upper 20’s. There may be a few snow flurries in Northern Arkansas on Wednesday but no accumulation is forecast.

A big warm up is in store for the area. Southerly winds will pick up overnight tonight and this will keep temperatures from falling off too much. However, with the increasing winds wind chills will drop into the teens in some locations. For the weekend though, temperatures will be on the upswing, with highs returning to the 50s and perhaps even 60 by Sunday is some locations.

Good Morning Branson!
It's #TGIF February 14th & here's today's outlook for the Branson area.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! ❤

We are starting out the day quite cold with much of the area seeing single digit temperatures (even near zero toward Central MO). Winds are 5-10 MPH.
Plenty of sun will allow temps to rebound pretty quickly today with highs generally in the 30s. The high pressure over the area this morning will shift east today and tonight as a trough of low pressure moves toward the area from the West.
The tightening pressure gradient will bring breezy Southeast winds gusting up to 20-25 MPH starting tonight. The winds and an overall warmer airmass will keep temperatures warmer with lows in the 20s to around 30, warmest west

Temps look to rebound even more over the weekend with highs expected in the mid to upper 50's on Saturday & around 60 on Sunday!

Have a safe & great day friends!

Traveling at a blazing 264 mph, a Canon Sure Shot 60 camera became the fastest projectile to be fired from the tornado debris canon at Texas Tech University’s Debris Impact Facility (DIF). The test was initiated by filmmaker and storm chaser Martin Lisius to demonstrate the danger of flying debris in a tornado. “Normally, the guys at Texas Tech use their pneumatic canon to fire two-by-fours at building materials for survivability testing,” said Lisius. “I wanted to try common objects we have in our homes, something we don’t normally think of as potential tornado projectiles. My goal is to show people that practically anything can be picked up by a tornado and become dangerous.” Lisius filmed the test for an upcoming documentary he is producing about storms.

Rain and some snow fell across the Ozarks today. The heaviest of the precipitation has moved off to the East. A couple of secondary areas of rain and snow are now entering the Ozarks. Light rain or drizzle will change over to flurries and light snow.

The heaviest of the snow will fall in the Truman Lake, Lake of the Ozarks area. Here an additional one to two inches is possible. South of this area a trace to one inch is possible. The light snow along with rapidly falling temperatures may create icy spots for the morning commute.

Very cold air is forecast for Thursday and this is something we have not experienced in a while. High temperatures may struggle to reach the mid 20’s in spots. Sections of North Arkansas may be the only areas to warm above freezing.

Strong northwest winds gusting to nearly 25 mph will keep wind chills frigid all day. Morning wind chills may be around zero. Friday morning looks very cold with a low near 12 degrees. A Southeast wind and sunshine should at least high Friday’s high back to nearly 40.

The weekend still looks good with a few clouds Saturday and plenty of sunshine Sunday. Highs Saturday will warm to the upper 40’s and low 50’s. Sunday should see mid 50’s to nearly 60. Clouds and rain on Monday but still very warm with a high around 60. Another blast of cold air is possible for the middle of next week.
