Wizards center Jonas Valanciunas explains the importance in setting proper screens and details involved in it. It’s more than just being an obstacle for the defender to give the ball handler space to make a play, there are a lot of intricacies with it. Wizards second year wing Bilal Coulibaly talks about his growth spurt over the summer from 6’6 1/2 to 6’9.

We all noticed how much taller he is now compared to when the season ended as soon as he walked in to the podium.

This is a big reason why, at times, waiting on the potential and development of a player is a bigger payoff than rolling with an establish vet. With time, the upside of the younger player can ultimately have a greater impact on the team overall and for more years to come.

Washington Wizards guard Malcolm Brogdon on the great job Wizards president Michael Winger and Wizards GM Will Dawkins have done in taking steps to change the culture of the Wizards. From player input on the right equipment in the weight room, to the right foods in the kitchen to the locker room being upgraded…Brogdon, a nine year vet who has played for five teams, says the improvements are clear to veteran players from day one. A great sign. This hasn’t always been the reputation from Wizards higher ups. More from media day on the way.

regular season finale is a HUGE one as they host the hot at Capital One Arena, fighting to secure the 8th and final playoff spot in the playoffs.

Here are the scenarios to determine if the Mystics clinch the 8th seed:
• If the Mystics lose, they are eliminated from playoff contention
• If the Mystics win, the Sky lose and the Dream lose, the Mystics are the No. 8 seed
• If the Mystics win and the Dream lose, the Mystics are the No. 8 seed regardless of what happens with the Sky
• If the Dream win, the Mystics are eliminated from playoff contention

The Mystics currently sit two games back of 8th seed Chicago Sky for the final playoff spot in the playoffs and a game back of 9th seed Atlanta Dream with 8 games remaining following today’s battle with Connecticut.
