The minute I thought I conquered one of the biggest hurdles… I had a few more that came along. The process of getting licensed in MD and DC specifically will just make you want to scream.

Applying for jobs, preparing for interviews/rejection from jobs, and last but not least that credentialing process Chile lol
•
Luckily, I had some guidance along the way and amazing ppl who kept me grounded and informed. If you had a guide/person to support you through your NP journey whether it’s at the beginning, during, or post graduation, what things could they help you with? It’s that time again for some education and since NP Week is fully under way, why not debunk some myths. I know there are some ppl who choose not to understand our profession, but for those who have questions, are open to learning, and want the FACTS, I’m here for you! Happy Nurse Practitioner Week to all of my fellow providers! Let me just say that completing my masters this past summer and passing my boards was one of my greatest accomplishments and I believe it was because of the journey itself! I know I’m new to the NP group but there’s no other place I’d rather be!
•
With that being said I want to share some news with y’all that only my close friends and family knew about. I’ve officially accepted a job offer that I couldn’t be more happy about. I will be working as an NP in pediatric general surgery and will be the first NP for our foregut clinic servicing achalasia patients.
•
I know y’all are probably like what is that lol I’ll explain later! But I’m grateful to God for opening doors and thankful for the support from my family and friends! Also special shout-out to my sister for that compensation course and being thee best coach ever!

had a post a few days ago with so much good information. It was something I felt I needed to elaborate on for my new grad NP’s as well as those still in school but nearing the end.
•
Would you believe I just found out a few months ago what a CAQH profile was and why it’s so important to have? Keep in mind I didn’t learn this in my master’s program. It also wasn’t until I was in my peds rotation w/ that I learned what an NPI number was.
•
If you are a new grad or nearing graduation please do your due diligence to start working on both of these. You can apply for an NPI number as a student. You can make a CAQH profile before you have any job and start inputting your licenses, credentials, and certificates in. This will save you time with credentialing and make your more marketable to employers!
