This is my son, and he’s my secret weapon for all my AI and digital marketing workshops 🚀.

I do all my demos on him because my ultimate goal is to make the material so clear that even a 5-year-old can get it. He’s the perfect test subject for understanding what makes a lesson clear and effective.

Through this process, I’ve realized that the greatest power isn't in what you know—it's in your ability to teach others.

When you can take a complex subject like AI and break it down into simple, understandable concepts, you’re not just sharing information; you're creating an opportunity for someone else to succeed.

And if I'm being honest, he probably knows 99.9% more about AI than most kindergartners in America. 😂

isn’t a microwave. You can’t just press a button and walk away. 🍿

I’m seeing headline after headline of companies laying off thousands of people to "replace" them with AI. Honestly? I think this is a massive overreach. 🛑

In our personal lives, we love automation. We throw clothes in the washer or put food in the microwave, press a button, and leave. We trust the machine to do the job perfectly.

But business leaders are falling into a trap thinking AI works the same way.

It doesn’t.

AI is still learning. It hallucinates. It gets facts wrong. It needs a human being to guide it, fact-check it, and make sure the output is actually useful. 🤖

I believe an AI backlash is coming. It won’t be like the Dot-com bubble, but it will be a moment where companies realize: Human intelligence is still superior. 🧠

AI shouldn't replace your team; it should make them faster. It’s a power tool, not the carpenter. 🛠️

Let’s stop trying to replace humans and start empowering them instead.

🤯 Seriously, We Are All Too Distracted

The older I get, the more I realize one huge thing holding me (and probably you) back: distractions.

It's not usually the big stuff. It’s those constant little things: the app that rings, the short video you watch on YouTube, the quick scroll through Instagram. Those tiny distractions add up. We spend hours every day just responding to notifications and alarms instead of working on the important stuff that will actually move us forward and give us the best results. 😫

My New Focus Challenge: What I Cut Out

I recently committed to a drastic challenge to reduce these time-sinks. The result has been incredibly refreshing:

🔇 Muted Everything: I killed virtually all phone notifications, keeping only essential emails and direct text messages from key clients.

🖱️ Stopped the Scroll: I broke the habit of falling down social media "rabbit holes" that spiral into hours of aimless scrolling.

📺 Less Binge-Watching: I’ve found myself less inclined to sit down for a three-hour game or mindlessly binge-watch Netflix. I’ve even noticed I'm less likely to just sit down and watch a long football game or binge-watch something on Netflix. These are all subtle ways our minds get distracted and keep us from hitting our goals.

By maintaining a sharper focus on pressing priorities, I'm getting significantly more done. Taking back control of my focus has been a powerful game-changer for my productivity and mental clarity.

These time-sinks are subtle, powerful distractions that ultimately prevent us from achieving our most ambitious goals.

I see it in boardrooms every day.

Leaders are trying to "fix" the bottom line by replacing human talent with AI. 🤖❌

On a spreadsheet, it looks like a masterstroke.
In reality? It’s a slow-motion car crash for your culture.

If your AI strategy is "Subtraction," you aren't innovating. You're shrinking.

The 10-Point CEO Checklist for 2026:

📍 1. Stop the Knowledge Drain

When you "delete" an employee, you lose years of institutional wisdom AI can’t replicate.

📍 2. Kill the Culture of Fear

If your staff thinks they are "next," they stop bringing their best ideas to the table.

📍 3. Identify Bottlenecks, Not People

Training reveals the problem is usually a broken process, not a "surplus" human.

📍 4. Lead from the Front

You cannot delegate digital literacy. If you don't know the tools, you can't lead the strategy.

📍 5. Multiplication > Subtraction

The goal is to make 1 employee do the work of 10—not to turn 10 employees into 0.

The Bottom Line: You can’t lead what you don’t understand.

Get your hands on the tech. Get trained.

For the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a Grow with Google Coach right here in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area.

My job was simple: I help local business owners use digital tools to grow.

And the numbers show that it's working. In 2024 alone, Google helped create $9 billion in economic activity for businesses and creators in Maryland.

But here is the reality: While the digital side is booming, our local economy is getting tougher. In late 2025, unemployment in the DMV started rising faster than the rest of the country.

This is why my role as a coach matters now more than ever. Over the last two years, I’ve seen that the businesses that survive a tough economy are the ones that:

Get Found: They use Google Search and Maps so customers can actually find them.

Save Time: They use AI (like Gemini) to handle the busy work so they can focus on their customers.

Stay Organized: They use tools like Google Workspace.

That $9 billion isn't just a big number—it represents thousands of neighbors, shop owners, and creators who are winning because they learned a new skill.

If you’re a business owner in the DMV and you feel like the economy is shifting, don't go it alone.
