AFRICA: Yesterday's "Beyond Boundaries - U.S. - Africa Policy" event served as a crucial platform for exploring the evolving dynamics between the U.S. and African nations, with a particular focus on the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) and the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).
The discussions highlighted AGOA’s role in promoting trade between the U.S. and sub-Saharan Africa by providing duty-free access to American markets for numerous African products. Despite its successes, there were calls for a reevaluation of AGOA to better align with contemporary trade needs and to address the challenges faced by African exporters. Other topics includes Critical Minerals, Immigration, Conflict, and National Security: Policy Strategies, and Leveraging US Africa Policy Strategies at the Legislative Level. The event was place at Texas A&M University. Bush Business School of Government and Public Service, Washington, D.C.
