Dear Dr. Rachel Titilayo Leslie and members of the Board of Trustees,
Thank you for your thoughtful letter regarding the governance transition of The African Historical Society.
I sincerely appreciate your kind words recognizing my role as a founding trustee and the opportunity I had to support the establishment of AHS during its formative years. It has been an honor to contribute, however modestly, to an organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Africa's rich history and heritage.
As I shared from the beginning, my willingness to serve was always intended to assist the organization in its early development, and I fully understand and respect the Board's decision as AHS enters this new phase of growth. I am pleased to learn that the transition has been carefully planned and that the Board has appointed a qualified successor to continue advancing the Society's important mission.
I remain grateful for the trust and confidence you placed in me over the past several years. I wish the Board, the leadership, and the entire African Historical Society every success as you continue to build a lasting institution that will educate and inspire future generations.
Thank you again for the opportunity to have been part of the Society's foundation. I look forward to witnessing AHS's continued growth and achievements in the years ahead.
Finally, I would respectfully note that the date on the letter appears to read "June 27, 2006." I believe this may be a typographical error and should likely read "June 27, 2026."
