As dusk embraced the quaint town, 75-year-old Richard was walking back home from the grocery when he suddenly stopped dead in his tracks.

I have two daughters: Tessa, 10, from my first marriage, and Sadie, 4, with my husband, Grant. My mom passed away recently, and Grant and I had to fly out for the funeral. It was rough. My MIL, Linda, offered to watch the girls while we were gone. So, of course, we agreed.
When we got home after three exhausting days, I noticed a faint light coming from the basement window. Weird. No one ever goes down there ā€” it's musty and full of junk. I went to check it out, and as soon as I reached the bottom of the stairs, I froze.

I've spent the last ten years paying off my modest three-bedroom house. It's nothing fancy, but it's mine. My sister and her husband, the free-spirited types, sold their home for a year-long travel adventure. They thought the money would last, but within two months, they were broke. They seriously underestimated how fast expenses would add up, especially with two young kids to take care of.
One day, I came home to find them unpacking in my house. Apparently, my mom gave them the spare key. When I asked them to leave, they refused. My BIL, being a big guy, even started subtly threatening me, saying I shouldn't get too high and mighty.

So, about a month ago, my new neighbor, Meredith, moved in next door. She barely said "Hi," but whatever. A week later, she started coming over EVERY SINGLE EVENING with a complaint about our solar garden lights. "They're too bright and they shine into my bedroom window. You need to get rid of them," she said, acting all high and mighty.
When I didn't jump on it immediately, she doubled down. "They're a nuisance, and if you don't remove them, I'll get the AUTHORITIES INVOLVED!" she threatened. Trying to avoid drama, we took the lights down the next day.

MY DIL THREW MY BELONGINGS OUT OF THE HOUSE AFTER INHERITING IT, BUT KARMA GOT HER THAT SAME DAY.
I was absolutely furious. I pulled up to the house I've lived in my ENTIRE life and saw all my things just sitting outside, while my daughter-in-law was casually sipping coffee in the yard with a smug smile on her face!
Turns out, a few hours before, she found out that my dad, who owned the house (he recently passed away in a nursing home), had supposedly left the house to HER in his will! Then, to top it off, 20 minutes later, my son arrived, and this girl had the nerve to say she wants a DIVORCE! Can you believe it?!
I immediately grabbed my phone and called my dad's lawyer, and the second I heard his first two words, I BURST out laughing!!
