Check out our Partner Spotlight feature on Todd Ewing with Federal Title & Escrow Company, in this month's issue of DC Metro Real Producers!

“How does it look to a homebuyer when their REALTOR® recommends a title company with noticeably lower online reviews and significantly higher fees,” Ewing ponders, as he squares up with his target at Sister Axe on Bellavita Farm in Brookeville, Maryland, lightly gripping the wooden handle as he raises his axe overhead with both hands and lets it fly. The steel blade sticks within inches of the bullseye.

Family First with Brad Rozansky

Working in real estate has, perhaps most importantly, allowed Brad to continually put his family first. He admits that finding a balance between his professional and home lives is a challenge, but it’s one he’s undertaken joyously.

“With so many careers, it’s easy to let the job take first precedence, but with real estate, if you work really hard at it, hire the right team, and understand that it’s never going to be perfect, you can have a great work-life balance,” Brad says.

When his kids were younger, Brad remained committed to attending their sporting events and school performances. “I am proud of that. I was there for them when they were young. It’s challenging, but doable in this field.” — Family First with Brad Rozansky

Check out our Cover Story Feature on Nancy Itteilag, in this month's issue of DC Metro Real Producers!

Nancy’s work ethic and outlook stem from the wisdom and advice of her father, a WWII veteran. “He believed if you set your goals and put your mind to it, you can achieve them. I was fortunate that he encouraged me to go to grad school and reach for the stars,” Nancy reflects. “He even took me on my first train ride to interview for grad school. If I had to credit one single thing in my life, I was lucky to be born into the family I was born into.”

Check out our Partner Spotlight feature on Tom Grass with @JK Moving Services, in this month's issue of DC Metro Real Producers!

“I always enjoyed working and having that independence,” says Tom. “When I got into the moving business, I enjoyed helping people move to the next phase of their life. I always enjoyed driving and loved performing out-of-town moves. It gave me the opportunity to see the United States. Also, being in the D.C. area gave me the opportunity to meet some celebrities and very high-end officials.”

With a degree in business from Montgomery College, Tom eventually started his own moving company. After 12 years of growing his business, he merged his company with JK Moving Services in 2004, and opened the Maryland business unit.

Helping people who really needs it with Brandon Frye of Guaranteed Rate

For most football players, getting to the NFL is a dream, and Brandon Frye was one of the few to realize that dream. After graduating with a finance degree from Virginia Tech in 2007, Brandon was drafted in the fifth round by the Houston Texans. He went on to play for the Miami Dolphins and Seattle Seahawks before his NFL career came to a close in 2010. Brandon, however, was in a unique position. During his time at Virginia Tech, he was heavily focused on his education. Playing professional football was always his backup plan. "For me, I don't think I struggled with transitioning after football as much as many players because I had a huge emphasis on school. I had plans for more than just playing in the NFL, if that opportunity came along," Brandon says.

Check out our Agent Spotlight feature on Katri Hunter , in this month's issue of DC Metro Real Producers!

“I was working much more than 9 to 5 and I didn’t have anything for myself outside of going to the gym or dinner. It wasn’t the type of work I had envisioned for myself (I was working with computers as opposed to people), and I had a desire to return to a past passion of mine,” she explains.

Katri’s past passion was riding horses. She rode horses growing up, first outside of London, where she lived up until the fifth grade, then San Francisco Bay area through middle school and high school, and competitively in college at the University of Vermont.

How to Achieve Success by Understanding the Challenges with Tripp Kelly

To rise above your rivals in the highly competitive world of business, you have to have a differentiator. For Tripp Kelly, a partner who has $ 800,000,000 under asset management, the big differentiator is the balance sheet approach and not just focusing on the product. The second thing is having a really great team behind you.

Check out our Rising Star feature on Jovan Vidulovic, in this month's issue of DC Metro Real Producers!

Jovan Vidulovic, of Keller Williams Realty, was born and raised in Boljevac, a small town in eastern Serbia. He remained there until college, when he headed off to Belgrade, Serbia’s capital, to pursue higher education. In Belgrade, Jovan obtained a bachelor’s degree in civil protection and environmental studies.

Life in Serbia is drastically different than here in the States, and the earnings expectations are far more subdued. Ultimately, it was economic opportunity that inspired Jovan to head across the ocean to the United States.

Check out our Cover Story feature on Will Thomas, in this month's issue of DC Metro Real Producers! "Broadcast journalism was a perfect fit that utilized those storytelling skills," Will reflects. "I was lucky enough to receive an internship at ABC News in New York City. Peter Jennings was someone I looked up to, so to be in the ABC network newsroom in New York was a dream realized." Will went on to enjoy a successful 20-year career at Fox 5, WTTG Washington, D.C., and became an Emmy Award-winning news anchor.
What is our thought on CoStar getting into the residential space with the goal to "strengthen" the agent-client relationship instead of "Fracture it and resell the relationship like Zillow?"

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which serves as a reminder to salute breast cancer survivors, as well as all those who have struggled with cancer. While I’ve never been a direct victim of cancer, having lost both of my parents to cancer at a young age presented its own unique struggles. I’d like to thank DC Metro Real Producers Magazine for allowing me to share my story.
