Copper & Water is thrilled to share with everyone that our short, “The Pastman” is now out for public viewing! Like Angry Deaf People Productions mentioned: This award-winning film became the very embodiment of what we are all about - telling stories with an all-deaf cast and crew and making a splash in the festivals while representing the deaf and the disabled community. It is now AVAILABLE on Vimeo. Join us in a journey into the past!

This film is being released for free but we would appreciate some patronage for all of the hard work that was put into this short. The money will go to not one but TWO deaf companies! Angry Deaf People and Copper & Water. The proceedings will go to future films and deaf creatives.

Deaf Navigator and RDSS programs

We, Copper & Water are pleased to have worked with the Deaf Navigator Program under Hope Community Resources in Anchorage, Alaska!

For Alaska's Deaf Awareness Week, we helped create 21 different videos for many different businesses and retell some stories about Deaf individuals-- check them out on their page!

Hello everyone! Our short "The Pastman" will be screened at Seattle Deaf Film Festival this summer! Their festival is virtual and online only from July 10-12. This is another opportunity for you to watch our short along with many other films in their festival!

C+W and ADP

Copper & Water and Angry Deaf People Productions partnered up to create "The Pastman" and we decided to document our experience and how the film came to be. We also realized the importance of showing hearing film festivals of accessibility throughout our process. Here's the latest update regarding "The Pastman"-- our short film's very own Sandra Mae Frank won best actress in the film competition at the Festival Clin d'Oeil two weekends ago! This is Sandra's second best actress award, as she won the first one in the Shidff (Shanghai International Deaf Film Festival) last autumn.

We're extremely proud of the team that worked so hard to bring this story to life and we look forward to making more stories for everyone!

Many thanks to MJ Kielbus, Charlie Ainsworth of Angry Deaf People Productions, Russell Harvard and Sandra Mae Frank for their collaboration on this project.

We have exciting news to share! "The Pastman" has been officially selected to screen at Maine Deaf Film Festival, DVAF: 1904 Deaf Film Festival, Deaffest, and Festival Clin d'Oeil! It was recently screened at the Miami International Science Fiction Film Festival in late March.

This brings 8 laurels to MJ Kielbus and Charlie Ainsworth of Angry Deaf People Productions!

Deaf-Created Short Film “The Pastman”

Here's some exciting news! Our short film "The Pastman" has been selected to be screened at the Other Worlds Austin Film Festival in early December! The Festival organizers have worked hard to collaborate with the deaf community and there will be a chance for you in Austin to see our short film. More information is coming to you all soon!

Our short film "The Pastman" won the Best Actress award at the Shanghai International Deaf Film Festival, and we're thrilled to have MJ Kielbus bring it home to Sandra Mae Frank! It will also be showing this Saturday, October 6th, at the Portland Deaf Film Festival. Charlie Ainsworth from Angry Deaf People Productions will be attending to answer any questions you might have about the movie.
