Bite The Hand: The truth is obvious Elon Musk did not get what he wanted out of the Big Beautiful Bill. Rather than engage in civil policy disagreements, he chose to take things to a personal level, attacking Trump on the grounds that make Democrats jealous.
While it is true that Elon Musk had a great deal with helping Trump get re-elected, Trump was going to beat Kamala Harris regardless if Musk stopped donating to Democrats for the first time in 20-plus years. As for how much the federal Government has done for Musk and his companies, the numbers don't lie.
*SpaceX has received $22 billion in federal spending, according to SpaceX President and COO Gwynne Shotwell.
*At least 25% of SpaceX’s 2024 revenue came from federal contracts worth $3.4 billion.
*Dozen of contracts with NASA, the Defense Department and five other government agencies are set to pay Musk’s companies another $11.8 billion in the coming years.
*Starlink secured $6 billion in federal contracts from 2022 to 2023, according to the federal government’s spending database,
Tesla has received more than $11 billion in regulatory credits from federal and state governments, according to WaPo’s analysis.
That includes $2.1 billion in federal funds to develop new EVs and batteries, according to the Good Jobs First advocacy group.
*Since 2014, about a third of Tesla’s $36 billion in profits stem from selling federal and state regulatory credits to other automakers
Tesla has also received nearly $800 million from the Energy and Treasury Departments since 2007.
If Elon Musk is concerned with cutting waste, fraud and abuse - Trump should start with severing ties to all of Elon Musk's contracts and save the government billions.
