Right now, public media is facing its greatest threat in history.

Despite incredible public support for public media, the House passed a rescissions package that would eliminate $1.1 billion in already-approved funding for public media. If enacted, it will strip essential services from communities nationwide — and could force some stations off the air entirely.

Now the rescissions package is in the Senate, awaiting a vote. If 51 Senators approve the rescission, federal funding for public media stations for the next two years is lost.

Click the link [https://n.pr/4dLSWRZ], it takes 20 seconds to send a letter to your Senators. That letter urges them to take immediate action, and makes your voice heard.

Will you take those 20 seconds? Will you stand with us?

What happens if we defund public media?

You lose access to stories from the places you rarely hear from—but deeply need to.
From wildfire coverage to rural community news, NPR is often the only source connecting remote, underserved areas to the rest of the country. Cutting funding doesn’t just impact media—it silences voices.

Public media serves 99% of the country. Let’s not let that coverage disappear.

1) Call your congressperson — it makes a difference.
2) Support your local public media station — they’re the ones telling your story.

“If NPR goes silent, so do we.”

This short video captures what’s at stake—not just for one station, but for entire regions that rely on public radio to stay informed, connected, and safe.
