So you want to buy an all white plant?
Don’t. Just don’t. Want to see why? Tap through 2.5 years of disappointment and frustration. Sure as hell don’t buy an all-white cutting unless you just like throwing away money.
And sellers, you know what you’re doing when you sell all white plant so that’s on your conscience 🤷🏻♀️
Photo 1: August 14, 2018 Back when I was all innocence and didn’t understand the consequences of that beautiful leaf.
Photo 2: June 23, 2018 The day I picked up this fully rooted plant locally for only $60. thankfully I got 2 plants that day otherwise I would probably hate variegated monstera. Keep tapping/reading to see why.
Photo 3: September 29, 2018 A blurry shot but the only one have from before the first big chop to induce variegation.
Photo 4: March 18, 2019 First growth after a late season chop in fall (don’t recommend it btw). Guess what, still white.
Photo 5: July 13, 2019 Still white, those little minty bits were cute tho.
Photo 6: August 18, 2019 This is what happens to those white leaves.
Photo 7: October 13, 2019 Time for the second big chop, this one on camera and fully documented in the highlight “white monstera”
Photo 8: March 1, 2020 New growth after the second big chop. But don’t get too excited by that green splash, it never came back.
Photo 9: March 14, 2020 honestly I don’t even have many photos after this. They’re just two stumps that I’m somehow still holding out hope for 🤷🏻♀️
Moral of the story, seriously, don’t buy all white plants. Or if you do, don’t say I didn’t warn you. And tbh half-moons are just as dangerous but that’s a story for another day.
