Received the first paper publication of one of our articles. Dope! 😍

Still in love with the smell and feel of a newspaper and book pages.

I can’t wait to send my grandmother her publication so she can read it for herself.

An old southern adage I learned from living in the south, “Just you keep living and don’t you die, you gon’ see some thangs.”

And I surely have.

One question we are constantly asked, “How are you all living so long? What’s the secret?” Not having a bad relationship with food is one of them. We have learned that food should be fuel and our bodies are not dumps. Learn better, do better. Outliving the world just became the new “IT”.

Juneteenth is the ultimate celebration of our emancipation. Our trek. Our freedom. GeneRise7 and the seven living generations it represents is living proof that beyond our ancestors wildest dreams we are living and thriving and OUTLIVING everyone in the world despite and in spite of! Join us in Uniontown, AL as we partner with Uniontown Juneteenth Committee to celebrate history, love, family and OUR HERITAGE! Uniontown is 30 minutes from Selma and the The Edmund Pettus Bridge, Site of the brutal “Bloody Sunday” killings during the civil rights movement and a little over an hour away from Montgomery, AL, THE HEART OF THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT. Part of our 5th generation, Rodney Jr and Nadirah Early, have roots in the deep south. This family is spread far and wide, from the Eastern Shores of Maryland to the military walls of Texas’s old Ft Hood. Our family is a treasure and we will spread our love ocean to ocean. Excited about our next event and the celebration of our people!!

Not a fallen soldier, rather one of our many Veterans in this SEVEN gen family. Marsha Shockley Woody, 3rd gen, currently residing in Killeen, TX, served in the US Army. In HONOR OF MEMORIAL DAY, we share our “Mouthpiece of the Day” quote from her. When asked: Why does family legacy matter to you? She replied:

“A triangle has three points. Love, unity and differences. Unity and differences, respectively, are both our connector and challenge. But love is our pinnacle. Love is work. Legacy is fruition.”

Leora Aycock, born in Wayne County, NC, in the 1890’s. Family rooted from a Freemont plantation, carrying the surname of the confederate supremacist and 1901 Governor of North Carolina, Charles B. Aycock, she may never have fathomed that her legacy and lineage would survive to see SEVEN LIVING GENERATIONS. Our mother and grandmother, our link, left this land early at the age of 48 but not before bearing many children, one of which is still alive today at 103 years old (in May). From there a long tale and trail follows the oldest living child beginning with her, still living, niece, my grandmother, at the age 90. Stay tuned for the amazing journey of: “Generise - Footprint of Seven Living Generations of an African American Family”. We are the first, the only, world record breakers.
