Monday's storms set a daily rainfall record at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) but only dropped 1/4" at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
Rain chances are much lower today (40% compared to 80%) than yesterday but you could still get hit with a thunderstorm. Highest rain chances today will be in the southern half of the DMV - mainly south of the Route 50/I-66 corridor.
Temperatures will be around 90° this afternoon but the heat index will be closer to 100°.
The pattern we're in will lead to rain chances waxing and waning from day to day: lower today, higher tomorrow, lower on Thursday, higher on Friday.
