Had to save the best for last - happy senior week to Karissa and all our incredible graduates at ATV!

Karissa Waddick is a senior from Waltham, Massachusetts, graduating with degrees in Journalism and CLEG. Karissa has dedicated much of her college career to ATV, acting as our Co-General Manager for the entire 2019-2020 academic year. She has also served as a crew member for Reality, a Producer for Fence, our Programming Director and Communications Director. Karissa joined ATV to find a practical application for the skills she was learning as an SOC major, and she stayed for the creative and engaging community. She has found life-long friends and mentors in ATV, and is extremely proud of the content she’s produced over the past four years. Without Karissa, our studio would not have functioned this past year. She has been fully invested in helping every single ATV show succeed and reach their highest goals. She stays long hours and always rushes to help when she is needed in the station. It is evident to every member of ATV that Karissa has an amazing work ethic, a welcoming personality and the ability to make everyone feel important and like they are a part of something larger than themselves. Whether it’s at news shoots, student media trivia or our bagel events, her encouragement and leadership will be irreplaceable. We will miss you Karissa and congratulations!

Jack Tollman is a senior from London England, majoring in Graphic Design and minoring in Marketing. Jack has spent the last several semesters serving as ATV’s Art Director. Jack joined ATV looking for practical experience in graphic design and his talents have been clear from the beginning, as he has created incredible websites, animations and new branding material. He has grown a small team of graphic designers who work alongside him to enhance our station. Jack has led the creation of our new logo, our brand new website, and our shows’ posters, logos and intros. He has been instrumental in the rebranding of ATV and his guidance, leadership and artistic skills have allowed our station to thrive over the past year. ATV would not be what we are today with Jack’s hard work and beautiful designs. We will miss you Jack and congratulations!

🎥 ✨ Senior Week at ATV ✨🎞
Camden Crystal is a senior from Wilsonville, Oregon, majoring in CLEG and Economics. Camden has been our Sportzone Executive Producer for the entire academic year and has been tirelessly working with their crew to create new content and engage their members. Camden started his ATV career by shooting with former Sportzone producers for the show’s basketball segment, and he has slowly taken over with his creative ideas and passion for sports commentary. He loves that this show gives students an opportunity to take a break from the stress of academics and focus on sports, friends and good conversations. His favorite part of making the show has been planning which stories they should cover and deciding what issues will get the most air time. Camden’s passion for this show is evident to anyone in our studio, as he can often be found single-handedly producing and editing each episode. He has maintained a close and friendly crew, and he fosters a strong sense of community during their meeting times. Camden’s positivity, dedication and clever commentary will be missed. Congratulations Camden!

Britt Jacovich, originally from Watertown Connecticut, is a senior graduating with a double major in CLEG and Public Relations. Britt has been a long standing member of ATV’s crew and Executive Board, serving as an Executive Producer for ATV News, the AUSG Debate Producer and Director, our Communication Director and Programming Director. Britt had a love for film in high school, which led her to join ATV at the start of her college career. Read our latest blog post to discover how media has impacted political conflict & oral history has played a role in White House relations!

Tevi Troy came to Politics and Prose on March 2 to discuss his latest book “ Fight House: Rivalries in the White House from Truman to Trump ” and pulled the curtain back on the political infighting of past White House administrations.

A statement on our upcoming Presidential Debate and our commitment to respect & security:

Dear AU Community,
Our station has a long tradition of hosting a Student Government Presidential Debate and Town Hall. While we normally host the debate in our MGC studio, the changing circumstances of the last few weeks have made that impossible.
Nonetheless, we still believe the debate and town hall provide an essential forum for the student body to hear where each of the candidates stand on important issues. For this reason, we are hosting a live debate on Facebook via Zoom on Monday, April 13 at 8 p.m.
Senior Leanna Faulk will moderate a 30 minute debate between the four candidates before opening up the platform for questions from the student body.
We have taken precautions to ensure that no one will be able to interfere with the debate. Comments on our Facebook live stream will be disabled so that we can better moderate the discourse in real time and ensure that discrimination of all kinds is not permitted. Anyone interested in sending in a question or comment before or during the debate can email [email protected] or can message us on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter.
ATV is dedicated to creating a space where all students feel heard and welcome. Thank you for your cooperation. See you on Monday!
