Wood & Co. loves women leading with courage. This firefighter proves why! 🚒👩‍🚒

In 2011, Linda Wadleigh, after spending three decades serving in wildland fire management with the U.S. Forest Service, helped to establish the Women in Wildfire Boot Camp.

Over more than a decade, the program has trained hundreds of applicants who have fought wildfires in 14 national forests across multiple western states.

Though the Women in Wildfire Boot Camp was recently terminated, Linda Wadleigh has teamed other with other women firefighter leaders with the goal to revive the program and continue to train women to fight wildfires around the U.S.! We see you, Linda! 👏

After years in the field, she and a handful of other women firefighters decided to crea...

🐟 Did you know that hundreds of millions of people globally depend on oceans and fish stocks for their livelihoods? But due to illegal fishing and large-scale overfishing, fish stocks around the world have fallen to levels that threaten both marine ecosystems and the well-being of humans everywhere.

🌎 This week, three years after being adopted by the World Trade Organization (WTO), a new agreement to limit fish subsidies has formally taken effect.

⚠️ This policy, called the WTO Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies, aims to prevent further depletion of fish stocks caused by overfishing.

️ It’s a significant step as it is “the first binding multilateral agreement on ocean sustainability,” though experts say we will need more action to fully protect fish stocks around the world.

The Geneva-based trade body touts the accord as its first focusing on the environment, and the first broad and binding multilateral agreement on ocean sustainability.

Younger investors aren’t just talking about ESG, they’re voting with their values. 💡

Vanguard’s recent pilot found 42% of investors under 45 chose an ESG-aligned voting policy (vs. only 17% of older investors). Women also leaned toward ESG more strongly than men. That’s a clear signal: the next generation expects companies and funds to walk the walk. https://www.esgtoday.com/vanguard-finds-esg-voting-policy-by-far-the-most-popular-choice-for-younger-investors/

Our CEO, Elizabeth Woodworth noted that ESG is no longer a “nice to have,” it’s a business imperative. It’s about trust, transparency, and long-term growth. https://woodcoconsulting.com/why-esg-matters/

The real question: Are companies listening? And how will they adapt when ESG becomes the baseline expectation, not the exception? 🤔

At Wood & Co., we remind our clients that staying true to sustainability initiatives, whether environmental strategies, social impact, or transparent governance, is critical no matter the political climate or regulatory changes. ESG is a proven business framework, not a political slogan. It’s abou...
