This is the problem with self-checkout.

09/09/2026

Self-checkout was supposed to make shopping faster and easier. But did it?

This week on The Mamas and Coffee Show, we're talking about the rise of self-checkout. Do you love being able to scan, bag and GO—or are you wondering when you became an unpaid store employee? Do you think self-checkout leads to more theft, whether purposeful or accidental?

Let's talk homeschooling.

26/08/2026

Grace homeschools. Sybil did NOT. And neither one is afraid to share her perspective.

Homeschooling can be a wonderful educational choice for children and families, but is it the right choice for every family? Is every parent truly prepared to teach? And are some parents choosing to homeschool to provide a better educational experience, or to shelter their children from people, ideas, and situations they don’t agree with?

On this episode of The Mamas and Coffee Show, Grace shares her experience as a homeschooling parent while Sybil shares why she believes homeschooling isn’t for every parent or every child.

We’re discussing the benefits, responsibilities, and possible blind spots of homeschooling, including socialization, parental preparedness, educational accountability, and the difference between protecting children and preparing them for life.

 Do you homeschool?
 Were you homeschooled?
Did you consider homeschooling and decide against it?
Do you think some children are being sheltered too much?

Share your experience in the comments and remember, we can disagree without acting like somebody poured salt into your coffee (although, Sybil's granny swore that a little salt in your coffee cuts the bitterness).

A mother's love. Can you still love a child who made a terrible choice?

10/06/2026

What are your thoughts on having to invite every kid in your child's classroom to the birthday party?

09/06/2026

Just because it's your birthday doesn't mean you deserve a gift. Agree or disagree?
