🔥💔 This morning my heart broke all over again in Nyakuron West Custom Market.

I just came back from the scene of last night’s devastating fire in Juba. The heat is still rising from the ground, the smell of ashes is everywhere, and the pain in the eyes of our mothers, sisters and brothers who lost everything in minutes is something no words can describe.

One precious young life was taken by the flames. Dozens of shops — people’s entire life savings, school fees for their children, dreams built over years — turned to nothing before their eyes.

To every trader affected: I see you. I feel your pain. You are not alone.

We are immediately coordinating emergency relief, assessments for support, and long-term solutions so this never happens again. No more waiting for the next fire. We must act now — better wiring, fire stations that reach on time, insurance for our market women and men, and a safer Juba for all.

South Sudan, these markets are the heartbeat of our economy. When they burn, we all feel the pain.

Let us turn this tragedy into strength. Together, we will rebuild Nyakuron — stronger, safer, and full of hope again.

My deepest condolences to the family of the child we lost. May God comfort you.
To every trader picking up the pieces today: we stand with you. 🙏🏾❤️

🔥 HISTORY JUST HAPPENED ON AFRICAN SOIL! 🔥

For the FIRST TIME EVER, the G20 Leaders’ Summit took place in Africa — Johannesburg 2025 — and South Africa just showed the entire world what African leadership looks like! 🇿🇦🌍

From the red carpet lined with Ndebele art to Cyril Ramaphosa shutting down distractions with pure class, from new climate billions flowing to the continent to debt relief deals that could change millions of lives… this wasn’t just a summit.

This was Africa saying: “We’re not waiting for a seat at the table — we ARE the table.” 🗣️

$500 billion debt relief framework
$250 billion for climate resilience
Women entrepreneurs getting billions in funding
Youth tech scholarships for 100 million Africans
And the spirit of Ubuntu echoing in every handshake under the Joburg sunset.

They said Africa can’t lead the G20.
We just proved them wrong — in style. 💪🏾✊🏿

Drop a 🇿🇦 if you’re proud.
Drop a 🌍 if you believe Africa’s century has officially begun.

🚨 Tragedy at Custom Market, Juba🚨

Last night, a devastating fire tore through the Custom Market in Juba, South Sudan, engulfing shops and homes and leaving countless families in despair. Despite the brave efforts of firefighters, the flames spread too quickly, destroying livelihoods in an instant.

In the midst of this chaos, a reporter covering the incident went live, pointing out the lack of action from our leaders as the fire raged on. Sadly, the live stream abruptly shut down when soldiers arrived, leading to fears for the reporter's safety and calls for transparency regarding his current status. 🚨

The community is demanding answers! Where is our journalist? We need to ensure his safety and call for the urgent support for those affected by this tragedy.

Let's stand together and show our support for the victims of this fire 🙏❤️. Share your thoughts, and let's uplift each other during this difficult time.

Namibia: Where a man named Adolf Hi**er just won re-election… but ended up dropping the "Hi**er" part just to dodge all the attention.

Sounds wild, but that's actually what happened. For the fifth straight time, Councillor Adolf Hi**er Uunona (SWAPO) grabbed another landslide win in Ompundja constituency, Oshana Region.

Only, this year there's a catch: at 57, he's finally gotten "Hi**er" removed from his national ID and all his legal paperwork. Now, he's officially Adolf Uunona, period. “My father gave me this name in the ‘60s, with no clue what it would come to mean,” he told local reporters. “Growing up, it was just another name. It wasn’t until I was older that I realized the history.

I have no connection to N**i ideas—none whatsoever.” Born while Namibia was still under colonial rule, back when German names popped up in certain communities, Mr Uunona has basically spent decades explaining that his notorious name was given without any bad intent, long before the terrible legacy of the Third Reich reached remote Ovamboland.

Still, like clockwork, every election cycle since 2020, you get the same splashy headlines from international media, selfie requests from tourists, and an avalanche of online trolls. The whole thing just became too much. So he changed his name—did it officially, quietly, and with a sense of relief.

Out in Ompundja, folks keep voting for the guy who gets water flowing, puts up classrooms, and fixes the roads—not the name his dad picked sixty years back. He keeps winning with somewhere around 85–90% of the vote.

Some stories, honestly, are weirder (and more down-to-earth) than the headlines ever show. So here’s Namibia, 2025: a place where history, colonial echoes, and daily democracy all bump up against each other in the strangest ways.

🌟 Big news coming out of South Sudan! 🌍✨

We’re seeing a pretty important shift in our political scene as Hon. Nyanthon Deng Rou, who leads the South Sudan United Front - National Inclusive Movement (SSUF-NIM) and previously chaired the National Parties Alliance (NPA), is now teaming up with Gen. Simon Gatwech, the head of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement - In Opposition Kitgwang faction. 🤝

Seems like this new alliance could be a crucial move toward unity and better cooperation between South Sudanese groups. It really highlights a growing commitment to peace, stability, and maybe even a more hopeful future for everyone here.

Working together, they look ready to tackle the challenges ahead—encouraging open dialogue and making sure every South Sudanese voice gets heard. So, why not come together and back this positive step?

Let’s support our leaders as they work towards building a stronger, more united South Sudan! ❤️
