Kim Kardashian West flies her fans to LA

Kim Kardashian West flew a number of fans to Los Angeles to celebrate her 35th birthday.

The reality TV star decided to celebrate her birthday by bringing together all of the fans she follows on social media to LA to spend some time with her at the Four Seasons in Westlake Village.

Kim tweeted: " I just had the best brunch today I flew out every fan I follow on social media to celebrate my birthday!!!"

Kim's celebration with her fans comes just days after her husband Kanye West threw her a surprise party on Wednesday, the day she turned 35.

The 'New Slaves' hitmaker helped the 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' beauty to celebrate in style by renting a screen at the Westlake Cinepolis cinema in Thousand Oaks, Los Angeles.

A source said the rapper, 38, invited lots of the reality TV star's loved ones, including mother Kris Jenner and her boyfriend Corey Gamble, older sister Kourtney Kardashian, and younger half-sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner to watch a film at the cinema in private.

The venue was decorated with white floral arrangements and K-shaped balloons, and guests arrived with gifts for the pregnant star.

The eyewitness told UsMagazine.com: "All of the gifts were wrapped in black and white."

Other guests included Kylie's boyfriend Tyga and the family's make-up artist Joyce Bonelli.

Kim, who has two-year-old daughter North and is expecting a baby boy in December, also received lots of messages from her family and friends on Twitter and Instagram to mark the occasion.

Singer Ashlee Simpson thinks her six-year-old son Bronx will carve out a career in the music industry in the future because he already "writes little songs".

Cancelled concerts: Seven strange excuses

One Direction left fans in tears after they pulled out of a show in Belfast minutes before they were due on stage.
The cancellation came after band member Liam Payne fell ill, with his bandmates tweeting their apologies to heartbroken Directioners.
But One Direction are not the first band to scrap a show at the last minute. Here are seven notorious concert cancellations.

Neil Young's sandwich tragedy
Harvest Moon singer Neil Young had to scrap an entire European tour in 1997 after he sliced off the top of his finger while making a ham sandwich.
"I'd have eaten the thing in one piece if I'd known that cutting it in half would jeopardize the tour," he said in a statement. "It's macaroni and cheese from now on."
Young's urged him to stay away from guitars while the finger healed. He missed 16 dates, including an appearance at the Glastonbury festival.

Kings of Leon attacked by pigeons
Kings of Leon were forced to cut short a performance in St Louis, Missouri, in 2010 after a flock of pigeons nestling above the stage took a dislike to their act.
The band quit three songs into their set, with drummer Nathan Followill explaining to fans that a bird defecated directly into bassist Jared Followill's mouth.
"Too unsanitary to continue," he wrote on Twitter. "Don't take it out on Jared, it's the venue's fault. You may enjoy being [defecated] on but we don't."
The Telegraph called it "the most eloquent live review in history."
Morrissey's penne pasta poisoning
Former Smiths frontman Morrissey has terrible luck when it comes to live shows - having suffered flu, throat infections and sinusitis on the road.
But in 2013, he had to scrap nine dates of a South American tour after a serious bout of food poisoning. He described the circumstances in a typically melodramatic statement:
"I can't give words to the sorrow I feel at the loss of perfect Peru. Oh, black cloud. After such a victorious and uplifting welcome of Lima love, the contaminated jinx had its way via a simple restaurant meal of penne pasta and tomato. Three hours later, both I, and security Liam have collapsed with a deadly and delirious bedridden disease. Five days of round-the-clock medical supervision just barely controls the corrosively toxic food poisoning. I know my luck too well. Sorrow replaces joy, and in every dream home a heartache. It could only be me."
The following year, Morrissey cancelled a string of dates in the US, blaming his support act for giving him a "horrendous cold".

report by Billboard, 23-year-old singer and actress announced last Friday the list of the "Revival" tour dates, which will start next summer.
" dates are up! Preorder a REVIVAL bundle to get early tix. See you soon! Xo http://smarturl.it/REVIVALTour," Selena Gomez said in her Instagram account.
According to Selena Gomez's website, fans can now pre-order tickets to her "Revival" tour. The selling already began last October 17.

Accordingly, more of Selena Gomez's tour dates will be announced by late 2016.
In her statement, Selena Gomez said, "I am ready to get back on the road and see my fans in person!"
"This album marks a new and very important chapter in my life. I cannot wait to get on stage and perform this new material," she added.
Selena Gomez's "Revival" album inludes the singles "Good For You," "Same Old Love," and "Me and the Rhythm."
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the "Behaving Badly" star said that she is very confident on her latest album.
"I was always insecure with my speaking voice because it's so low," the "I Want You To Know" hit maker revealed.
Justin Bieber's ex went on to add, "I never felt like it was feminine-sounding. I didn't know it would be such an asset to who I am now, though. It adds a cool, personal quality. It's exciting."

The chase begins for $10 million at Tour Championship

Brandt Snedeker is finishing his ninth year on the PGA Tour, and he already has amassed more than $26 million in earnings.

He never really thought about the money and would only know his total if he took time to look it up.

But there was one exception.

On a Sunday afternoon at East Lake in 2012, Snedeker closed with a 68 to win the Tour Championship and beat out Rory McIlroy for the FedEx Cup title. The latter came with a $10 million bonus — $9 million up front, the other $1 million deferred.

Two days later, he went online to check his account.

"That's the only time I ever checked was that Tuesday," Snedeker said. "They said it would take until Tuesday. And it was there."

That's been the story at East Lake ever since the FedEx Cup began in 2007. It was different the first year when the money was all deferred. Now, it's 90 percent cash. For most players, especially the top three in the world, this week is more about winning than the money.

Jason Day, Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth have combined for 12 victories worldwide and over $25 million in earnings this year. They have won five of the last six majors. They all are in their 20s. And one of them will leave Atlanta as No. 1 in the world.

Big Brother Season 17 Comes to an End! Who Took Home the Big Prize in the Finale?

We've found our least favorite thing about the fall: the end of Big Brother.
We don't know what it is about a bunch of randos living in a house and partaking in challenges that look like they're set in a Pixar movie, but it both distresses and delights us every single summer.
This summer was no different, with the twin twist, tons of backstabbing, and more crying than we could have ever wanted or needed (looking at you, Vanessa).
In the end, only one could walk away with the half a million dollars, and it was a person we never could have guessed when the season first started.
Congratulations to...
Steve Moses!

The 22 year-old engineering student first seemed like he was a lock for an early exit from the Big Brother house. He constantly appeared to talk to himself and beat himself up for anything he did, and nearly lost it after his first gig as HOH when he eliminated Jackie.
However, as the season went on, he started to form more alliances and make some even bigger moves, and slowly a win actually started to look possible.
Even Steve himself said that he was not expecting this, and had no plans whatsoever for his prize money.
Steve won 6 votes to 3 votes against Liz, who also walks away with a prize of $50,000. Julie also awarded James with the much-deserved fan favorite prize, though we would have also been happy to see it go to Johnny Mac, Jason, or Meg.
Meanwhile, Shelli reunited with Clay, Austin admitted that Judas was really just Austin in a top hat, and Vanessa continued to be incredibly annoying, even if we will admit she played a pretty good game.
It's been fun, Big Brother. See you next summer!

Kate Middleton Is Suddenly Rocking Bangs

Over in Merry Olde England, the Queen just became the U.K.'s longest-reigning monarch, Princess Charlotte has been deemed worth $5 billion, and Kate Middleton went and got a haircut.

Photos of the Duchess of Cambridge leaving Balmoral Castle in Scotland show her sporting side-swept bangs. The royal has been famed for her glossy, long-layered mane, but the new 'do is very Carla Bruni meets every woman on the planet who's trying to grow out their bangs. Don't tell us we've already missed out on the full-fringed Jane Birkin stage, Kate.

Whether the fringe is here to stay or already headed to Bobby Pinsville, it's nice to see the fashion plate dabbling in fresh styles. Today, some shorter layers; tomorrow a lob, perhaps?

Fashion Week’s most fabulous are from St. Louis

How do you wrangle a gaggle of supermodels to trek to the Upper East Side in heavy rains on one of the biggest nights of Fashion Week?
Publish a book about them, of course.
Fashion writer Derek Blasberg and Harper’s Bazaar Editor-in-Chief Glenda Bailey co-hosted a signing for his newest tome “Harper’s Bazaar: Models” at the Gagosian shop on Madison Avenue just hours before the Alexander Wang show kicked off on the West Side.
And it drew a steady flow of pretty young things to the intimate space above the swanky Japanese restaurant Kappo Masa.

Welding room gets new life as kitchen

Things are getting sweet as sugar at Ivy Tech’s division of delectable delights.

The existing industrial kitchens with their retro, sturdy-looking mixing bowls are a bit reminiscent of the Julia Child era. Things have gotten a bit cramped in the existing bakery as the program has doubled in size in the last decade, newly minted baking and pastry graduate Christopher Baldwin said.

With a bit of sweet-talking savvy, officials with the hospitality administration program looked around the premises at the campus on Coliseum Boulevard and annexed a vacated welding shop that will add a much-needed 3,540 square feet to the kitchens, which now measure 764 square feet.

Epicurean excellence will be on display Oct. 24 when college chefs don the pleated hats for “A Reason to Taste: Flamenco & Flames,” a dinner and silent auction to benefit scholarships and college programs. Cocktail attire and castanets are in order.

Students on their way to earning certificates or an associate degree in either culinary arts or baking and pastry will be preparing tapas just as they do in Barcelona and Madrid, organizers promise, and maybe the perfect flan for dessert, sizzled with a Spanish sherry.

Flan is on the list of treats that students will learn to make when the new bakery is finished. Not to whet anyone’s immediate appetite, but here it is: yeast breads, quick breads, cakes, cookies, tortes, custards, doughnuts, Danish and puff pastry.

The new bakery will allow students to learn new techniques such as using liquid nitrogen to cool things down in seconds, for endeavors like turning milk into ice cream. Sugar pulling is a method to turn sugar into a glossy mass and then into decorative shapes. Both techniques will make Ivy Tech Northeast graduates “especially desirable in the market,” said Sarah Hughes, hospitality administration program chair.

This year there are 84 new students in the baking and pastry program, Hughes said. “All our basic classes are full and overbooked.” Last spring there were 67 students.

To equip the bakery with the latest gastronomic gadgets, the McMillen Foundation has promised $150,000 over a three-year period, and the English, Bonter, Mitchell Foundation, $200,000 over the same amount of time. Ivy Tech’s central office donated $200,000, which leaves about $150,000 to be raised, a college spokeswoman said.

9/12/2001- The Days After The Unthinkable Happened – Part 11

This is grim news for us as a nation, but we should also rejoice for we at last are seeking blood from those who dealt us the deal.” Enthusiastic hand claps erupted.
“It is been a cloud hanging over us for a long time, now, but now we have the chance to experience its good potential. The promise of a silver lining holds especially true for we gentlemen in this room.” He unveils a map of the Mideast on the easel board set up before them. “We have already begun our buildup for a campaign against our hidden enemies. Our researchers in the CIA and FBI have led us to the lair of our cowardly foes. And that lair is in…” he points to the map with his pointer, “Iraq.” He points to the nation which is suddenly highlighted on the map and grows in proportion to be dominant. “This is our enemy. It is believed that Osama bin Laden is hiding out in its midst, probably in a remote desert area. In two days from now we will be hitting them with everything we got. They will experience a shock and awe that they will never forget.”

Labour leadership: Andy Burnham raises Tory infiltration fears

Several thousand Conservatives may be planning to vote in the Labour leadership election, Andy Burnham's campaign has said.
Michael Dugher, who is chairing Mr Burnham's campaign, called for an "urgent meeting" of candidate teams to address the issue.
There are also claims individuals supporting Jeremy Corbyn are being unfairly banned from taking part.
Labour said it has "a robust system" to stop "malicious applications".
Mr Corbyn, Mr Burnham, Yvette Cooper and Liz Kendall are all standing.
Polls suggest Mr Corbyn is the frontrunner.

Typhoon Goni leaves at least 3 dead in northern Philippines

MANILA, Philippines – Officials say at least three people have died, including a 10-year-old boy, from landslides triggered by heavy rains from a powerful typhoon pummeling the northern Philippines.

Government weather forecaster Adzar Aurelio said Typhoon Goni was still at sea on Friday afternoon about 100 kilometers (62 miles) east of northern Calayan Island, with maximum sustained winds of 170 kilometers per hour (105 mph) and gusts of up to 205 kph (127 mph).

Aurelio said it is moving at 7 kph (4 mph) and may pass over tiny islands at the country's northern tip.

Civil defense official Andrew Alex Uy said a mother and her two sons were hit by a landslide in northern Mountain Province which killed the 10-year-old son and injured his 9-year-old brother.

Wild horses near Salt River to be removed by Forest Service

Wild horses that roam the Tonto National Forest near the Salt River are creating both a danger and a nuisance, Forest Service officials say. Several have been killed by cars on the Bush Highway northeast of Mesa, while others have trampled campgrounds.

Last week, the Tonto National Forest published a notice warning that unauthorized horses in a portion of the forest near the river would be impounded without further notice beginning Friday and continuing for the next 12 months. Estimates place the number of horses at about 100.

However, Tonto spokeswoman Carrie Templin said the Forest Service has no intention of starting the roundup Friday. There is no timeline for the removal, she said, and contractors to do the work have not yet been selected.

The controversy illustrates the difficult balance of managing wildlife on public land. Previous wild-horse and -b***o roundups in Arizona have created controversy, but seldom so close to an urban area.

The Forest Service is developing similar roundup plans — and encountering pushback from wildlife advocates — for wild horses roaming the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests near Heber and Overgaard. The Navajo Nation also is negotiating an agreement with activists to remove hundreds of wild horses from reservation lands without sending them to slaughterhouses.

No pressure on Anna Daly to look glamorous

Ireland AM presenter Anna Daly has told the RTÉ Guide that she doesn't feel any pressure to look glamorous all the time - and that she likes a sweet treat.

As the TV3 star prepares for the Ireland AM weekend breakfast show, which she will co-host with Ivan Yates on Sundays and Simon Delaney on Saturdays, she revealed her thoughts on the shallow side of showbiz.

“You’re not going to go on TV as if you’ve just loaded the dishwasher at home," she says, before adding: "I suppose you’re trying to put forward the best version of yourself that you can.

"You have to look as glossy as possible, which is where hair and make-up departments come in, thank god for them! I shop for myself and while it sounds gorgeous and glamorous, it’s a lot of hard work."

"If I felt pressure to look glamorous all the time, I’d be really skinny and I'm not. I do walk and jog but I don’t have a lot of willpower with food.

Daly also admitted that she has a weakness when it comes to keeping away from sweet treats. "I never deny myself a dessert when I'm out for dinner and I have little jars of jellies and chocolates tucked away in different parts of the house just in case I need a quick fix."
