We tested which side of the templetoolco Ryoba saw works best for 45-degree cuts, where the grain runs in both directions. Rip-cut chops fast but can tear fibers, while cross-cut slices clean and leaves a crisp edge if you take your time. So the question is—do you want speed or precision?

gluing together a tiny box with bessey EZ360.

love how the handle spins 360 degrees, making it easy to use. the large clamping pads press against the wood without leaving marks, and the material prevents glue from sticking to it.

joinery compilation🪵 which one is your favorite? my favorite is the first and the last

started with a fail, but here’s how to make perfect dowels:

first, drill halfway through the wood with the larger drill bit. then, without moving either the drill press or the wood, switch to the smaller drill bit and drill all the way through. the smaller bit should match the final size of the dowel.

next, clamp a chisel or plane blade over the gap. move the edge of the tool around until you find the exact spot.

i find i get better results if i pre-rout the wood sticks very close to the final dimensions, so there’s less material to remove with the jig. straight grain makes them more durable
