What is up with my ceiling?
Title says it all. This has been slowly happening over the past several years, not anything new. Ceiling does not feel wet or cold. Very confused about the sharp 90 degree lines. Located right above a stove, and right beneath a bathroom (shower against the wall above the window).

Am I expecting too much from spray paint, or did I not let it dry enough?
I recently sanded and resprayed an inexpensive nightstand that I bought on Amazon a while ago. The top was made from cheap particleboard with a thin white veneer that would not stand up to water.

So I purchased some rustoleum “appliance epoxy enamel“ in a spray can. Sanded the high spots off the top of my nightstand where the veneer and particleboard had water damage, and roughed up the rest, and sprayed on 4 coats about 25 minutes apart, per instructions. Let it dry in the garage overnight, then it spent a couple days in the sun outdoors before bringing it inside.

When I placed a hot cup on it, I noticed an imprint in the finish.

I’m wondering if I’m just expecting too much from this kind of finish, or if it maybe hasn’t dried enough, or what. I can still dent it with a fingernail and it’s been 5 days since I sprayed it.

Do I need to apply a coat of lacquer or something to get a nice hard finish? Any other recommendations, in terms of prep, finish, or otherwise?

Which pantry would you go with?
This is a pantry in a vacation house, so we generally stay a week or 2 at a time. Or long weekends when we can. We do enjoy cooking together as a family. I have 15 inches beside the fridge so want to put in a pantry of some sort. I would love to hear if anyone here has experience or opinions on these 2 types of pantries. Option 1 is a full height pullout, Option 2 full height doors with pull out shelves.

How in the world do I change this smoke detector?
It’s plugged in, and recently started beeping (incredibly loudly) every 30 seconds indicating it needs to be changed as the battery is dying. I don’t have a ladder nearly big enough but even if I did I have no idea how I could set it up safely enough to climb it given there’s not much to balance it against.

Any way to reduce the glossiness without a complete sand and redo?
Just had the floors refinished after a bunch of renovations, and the flooring guy has used a gloss finish, which I'm not loving. The floors were previously satin finish and I loved them, but I forgot to specify (yes, this is on me) and now I'm having some regret.

Are there any options for reducing the shine that don't involve a full do-over? Thanks.
